I'd plan on seeing Rochester hit the scene hard, many more call-ups coming & helping solidify our team.
Darcy said someone was coming up in his press conference.. didnt catch the name, as I had the video running in the background while i was working on 3d Graphics stuff.
Kevin Porter, Says Darcy around 10m, 55s point of the press conference
Is Luke Adam going to get another chance? He showed a flicker last year. I have a feeling though that he's not NHL calibre.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.
I don't see a lot of guys from Rochester being called up unless people get hurt. Remember, the team is limited on the number of bodies on the roster so if they start calling people up then they have to send people down which in most cases would mean that they would have to clear waivers.
Kevin Porter is way ahead of Adam, as much as I liked the guy.
I wouldnt mind seeing Porter with Vanek, nothing against Cody.
RIP Tommy D!

If you make something "Idiot-proof", they'll only make better idiots!
cody as a second line venter would really help him grow into a top line center, in my opinion. if you had him with a foligno and stafford (see if you can get stafford going again) and slide ennis down to 3...i think you'll have a very powerful 3 lines. however, i think putting porter as a 1 center will come with growing pains. can we trade for that top line center, move everyone down and get 4 good lines going again? that's the only way to put points up consistently if our d isn't going to get better.
They had Adam on a line with Vanek, and he was on fire at the beginning of last year.
Hecht came back, and they switched lines, and Adam went all the way down to 3 and 4 and he played with the likes of the Kaletas and Eliis and McCormicks, and he severely lost his way and his confidence. I thought he could have been good. Scorers need to play on lines 1 and 2 with more talented guys, and he was good around the net.
Adam got Ruffed.

I think you're right. He's not exactly lighting it up in Rochester. I'm hard-pressed to find much worth bringing up from Rochester. Kevin Porter was a beast in college, but that was half a career ago. He turns 27 in a few weeks so he probably has hit his ceiling. Mancari is 28 and we know what he's capable of...not much. Brian Flynn is another decent NCAA player that is a 4th liner at best in the NHL. Evan Rankin is more NCAA fodder and surely a minor leaguer. Phil Varone is Derek Roy without the talent. Nick Tarnasky is a goon. Girgensons is young but has been a disappointment.
I dunno...Braydon McNabb might have something left to show. And we still haven't seen what Mark Pysyk has.
Adam is the Top of the Call up list after Porter for Center.
I really hope Darcy doesnt do what he said though, Putting Porter on the effing 3rd/4th Line.. if you're gonna do that, leave him in rochester.
So,
Vanek - Hodgson - Pominville
Foligno - Ennis/Porter - Stafford/Porter?
Gerbe - Grigorenko/Ott - Hecht
Scott - Ott - Kaleta
??
Let's start picking at this....
1. Yes, Tarnasky could be classified as a "goon", but do goons have 11 goals and 16 points on the season to go with 112 PIM? Probably not. Nick is probably the only Amerk that doesn't truly back down from a fight; the Amerks as a whole may have size, but do not really intimidate opponents.
2. Grigs missed quite a bit of action due to a concussion he suffered. Even so, he's got 3 goals and 10 points and is a -2. For a first year player, that isn't shabby.
3. This is Flynn's first full year of pro hockey. Same with Rankin.
4. McNabb has regressed over the past few months. I wouldn't bring him back up until he fixes what's wrong with his play.
5. And I don't want Pysyk up here until he's fully ready.
John Hemingway(facing certain death): I want to see Buffalo win the Super Bowl.
David Coltrane(threatening John): Nobody's going to live that long, pal.

I don't disagree with any of that. I'm just saying that there's really nothing down in Rochester that's really compelling. Sure, maybe Girgensons (not Grigs) might develop but you have to admit he has been an early disappointment for a #14 and part of that disappointment is sustaining an injury that can have career implications regardless of how minor it might seem at the time. Sure it's just his first season, so hopefully he'll mature and quickly too.
If McNabb has regressed in the AHL maybe he needs to swap places with Brennan. Maybe they'll both snap out of it. Brennan is a total wuss.
Flynn definitely has some upside, but he's not going to be a top 6 forward. Rankin has been bouncing around the minor leagues for 4 years. Granted, he had a nice half season last year, but he hasn't put up the same numbers this year. He'll be 27 next month. I just don't see much potential there.
Pysyk is about the only Amerk who's truly showing his stuff. And he's doing it by not doing stupid stuff. In terms of plus/minus, he leads the team with a +10. He doesn't get on the scoresheet often, but he's not that type of player.
Re McNabb: Maybe, but I'd rather see him fix what's wrong with his game first BEFORE he gets called back up here. And I'd rather see Brennan released outright-or made into a forward.
And, you're right...I DID mean to say Girgs. Not saying you're wrong in your analysis of him, but-unlike Grigs, who had nothing more left to prove in the Q-Girgs could use the time to improve his game and make it better.
Pardy is back Up,.
