I eat a lot of grape fruit, it's a negative calorie food... meaning you burn more calories prepping it/eating than it has. It's also one of the largest fruits you can eat conveniently.

And no one should drink Mountain Dew.... ever.
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

The United States Food and Drug Administration considers BVO to be safe for use as a food additive.[5] One case reported that a man who consumed two to four liters of a soda containing BVO on a daily basis experienced memory loss, tremors, fatigue, loss of muscle coordination, headache, and ptosis of the right eyelid, as well as elevated serum chloride.[13] In the two months it took to correctly diagnose the problem, the patient also lost the ability to walk. Eventually, bromism was diagnosed and hemodialysis was prescribed which resulted in a reversal of the disorder.[14]

You should eat following low calorie food:
    Choose Filling Grains,
    Eat watermelon,
Go Back to Black (skip brown and white rice)
Eat Energy-Burning Greens (Eat more veggies)
    Hit Bean Town.

Re: low calorie foods that are filling?

    It's even simpler than that.

    High fiber, low fat.
    Low Sodium.
    Avoid processed foods, additives.
Max your proteins per day (should be about 35 grams)
When you take in fats - get the good ones: monounsaturated.
Fish oil supplements can supply the MCFAs that many western diets lack (we should all eat two meals of fish per week, but most don't)
When discussing fish oils - you are after the medium chain fatty acids (MCFAs).
Supplements to look for are Omega III ethyl esters. The best one to get is via prescription called LOVAZA. There are two reasons it is better than OTC Omega III ethyl esters:
All prescription medications (and production thereof) is overseen by the FDA. They ensure two things with this drug:
They are actually supplying only the two Fatty Acids advertised. (The OTC may claim, but they are mixed with the bad FAs in the capsules).
They filter out the toxins from the Menhaden from which the oil is primarily harvested. (Again, the OTC drugs make claims that cannot be substantiated - and no FDA to check it).
Limit your carbohydrates and simple sugars.
    Don't drink soda AT ALL.
Tall glass of cold water with your evening meal.
Don't eat after dinner is finished.
Don't eat dessert. Or limit to once a week.
And, yes, when consuming carbohydrates - stick to Oprah's rule: dark is better.
Dark (whole grain) breads > white bread
    Dark Rice > white rice
    Dark Pasta > regular pasta
Potatoes? - just cut the portion in half.
Water itself is not something that will make you feel full/satiated. But, a tall glass of cold water with a meal will help expand the food you just ate and help to that end. So three to four large cold glasses of water a day should be a goal.

We are trying to replace much of the rice/pasta/potatoes we were eating with Quinoa. It comes in black, white, and red. My favorite is the black. But it's hard to find. The best is from Williams & Sonoma believe it or not.

Thanks for the tip. Interesting that Quinoa is a complete protein. Since I'm strength training I have upped my protein intake.
