Kolb only gets cut this year if someone picks up Tuel from the practice squad.

If Tuel has another game like today there will be no sneaking him onto the practice squad. They will have to carry 3 QB.

Tuel is a real pleasant surprise. I really like his play. But, your asking a HC to cut a vet who has the experience and savy to add solid play for a rookie who has shown nothing in real games yet.

It's just too risky a move for any HC to make.

But, based on play, Tuel should be competing for the #2 QB job IMO. And if the HC had a big set he'd cut Kolb and let Tuel be the #2.

I just don't see it happening though.

I don't think the Bills will cut Kolb. No team is going to keep only two QBs on the roster with nobody on the PS that knows the offensive system. It's just too risky. I think it is also likely to be too risky for the Bills to try and sneak Tuel on to the PS if he keeps playing close to this level. The Bills know that some other team will snatch him up when the Bills make their final cuts. Therefore, the Bills are going to need to suck it up and keep three QBs on the active roster. It is, however, very possible that the Bills release Kolb after the season and look for something cheaper to be the third option at QB. That could be an undrafted rookie in next year's draft class that the Bills can sneak on to the PS, but not if he plays the way Tuel is playing right now.

I think they'll carry 3 qb's this season, but wouldn't be surprised if they chose to keep Tuel and cut Kolb. Tuel was terrific. Accurate, great reads, and made excellent decisions.

keeping kolb is a waste of a spot. i can't see another team scooping him up. roll with 2 and keep more good players at the WR position.

Kolb, though a new player to the bills, is still old buffalo thinking. "we need a name player" and he just reminds me of what has been wrong so long. if the bills say, "it's a gut check, but these two guys are the future, look good now and if ej goes down, tuel is just going to have to get it done." that's bold and decisive. it rewards tuel for doing well. and if ej goes down and we need to get kolb or tjax to back him up, i'm guessing that guy will still be there.

They won't cut Kolb. Ej on the other hand is gone. Tuel is our starter
