Matthew Kollar (WGR 550) thought Reinhart was the best player on the ice Friday night and by far the smartest player..

Grigo scored another goal. Larsson with 2 assists. Reinhart had 3 assists in 3 games played. Positive sign, but a small sample size. is it October yet???? I'm excited for next year already.

That was a crazy game. They had it on TV with no NHL on. You def heard his name a lot even outside of burying 4 goals.

he started slow this season, but once he was traded to erie, his game skyrocketed. alot of people are saying he is playing his way to being a grade A prospect. hes not, but hes always had a decent ceiling. its doubtful, but he could be a top 6 forward with his speed and skill set. his speed is always going to be his best asset.

I would imagine his game would improve with a certain C that Erie has playing alongside him.

sure, but lets not pretend he is devoid of skill and its all mcdavid. baptiste is a good hockey player who did just fine without mcdavid in sudbury.

I get the feeling eichel, when he's developed, could turn Andrew Peters into a 50 point scorer.

No of course he is a good prospect but you said yourself that all of a sudden people are calling him a grade A prospect. Did this happen maybe a month or 2 after Nov 2014 when he got traded to Erie? The fact that he played on his own and got drafted without McDavid could at least show you he is capable of doing it. Last thing you want is another Jonathan Cheechoo. Only effective with one player passing you the puck.

If Nolan was still here, that's exactly who he would be playing with too.

Gotta agree with Might simi here McDavid has propped up Baptiste quite a bit... Easy prediction McDavids other linemate Alex Debrincat numbers next year go down without McDavid

Then how do you account his 89 points in 66 the season before without McDavid?

No one said he sucked and that McDavid made him look good. He might appear to be a better prospect than he is because we hear his name a lot alongside McDavid. I said that if anything he showed he could do it without McDavid in post #633. However, usually guys who score more than a point per game in the O and are picked in the 3rd round means there is something else there.

i dont think anyone is expecting baptiste to be a 50 goal scorer, but he has impressed. besides, like mcdavid, eichel also possesses the ability to make others around him better.

Ok McDavid has propped up Baptiste a little not a lot like I suggested.. Between Baptiste and Justin Bailey if one of them ended up being a good 3rd liner that would a bonus..i doubt either one of them ends up being a top 6 forward

    Re: sabres prospect talk

On their own? Doubtful. But what you could see is one of them mesh well with eichel or reinhart and produce like a top 6 winger, like kunitz and dupuis in Pittsburgh with crosby. If you put them with a guy who makes others around them better, it can work. And eichel is reported to be one of those guys
