Kiko Alonso wins NFL defensive rookie of the month

A total of 45 players were chosen in this year’s draft before Kiko Alonso, 25 of them on defense.
None were better in September.
The Bills linebacker was just named NFL defensive rookie of the month, after a stellar start to his career.
The second-rounder is tied for the league lead with four interceptions, and also for the league lead in tackles (though raw tackles are among the most dubious stats kept — but hey, he had a lot of them, so good for him).
He also has a forced fumble, a fumble recovery a sack and four passes broken up, showing excellent ability in coverage.
Great stuff

Paul Pos-who?

Poz is a proven player...who took the opportunity to flee BUF when it was offered.
I like Alonzo for being around the ball, but won't anoint him for being in the right place in what I consider to be one of the worst play calling disasters by an offensive coordinator in my recent viewing.

Fiat justitia ruat caelum. Noli timere. Laus Deo.
I had no idea we were getting a ready made 3 down LBer when we drafted him. The Bills have missed on so many linebackers since Spikes and Fletcher. Poz was solid but Kiko is a revelation. He can fall back in coverage, he can rush the passer, he can call the defensive plays! And he's a rookie! The sky's the limit for this guy. He's kind of having the same success that Byrd had when he came up in the league. A second rounder, many teams passed on him. And he quietly had a great year amassing a ton of interceptions. Kiko is doing the same.
But I want Kiko Alsono to be a force. A guy like Matthews or Allen or Lewis where his play intimidates the other team. A guy the opposing offense has to account for. A bigger than life presence on the field.
