the thing with me is, ive never followed a winner. the tigers havnt won since ive been old enough to be a fan, sabres have never won, michigan football won in 97, but i wasnt a huge fan back then. michigan basketball came of so close last year... i just want a winner. and the sabres are my fav club of all of em, so it means alot to me.
im a fanatic, i admit. but an optimistic son of gun.

My one and only winner was when Rensselaer won the national hockey championship my senior year back in '85 with Puppa and Oates. That was awesome. Other than that, my only teams are the Bills and the Sabres.

So NYI are in bottom three of the standings now.
I'm sure they're going to be deferring to 2015. I think it's a safe bet that we will have two 2015 lottery picks.
God I would love a trade for Miller at this point for their 2014 and 2015.

Why not? They lost Moulson and they're going to lose Vanek. MacDonald and Bouchard are UFA as well. Nabokov should retire and Poulin doesn't look ready. Hampering those signing is still dead cap for Yashin.

obviously, its a little premature to make that claim right now, but its very possible. remember when this trade went down? everyone claimed the isles were a playoff team, yadda yadda. well, they certainly are not. next year, they will lose vanek (hes on the block again now) and their goaltending situation is even more murky, and they lose other UFAs as well. things in new york are looking bad, and new york has to stop the bleeding.

The Isles are a bigger mess than the Sabres. At least the Sabres realize that their in full-blown rebuild mode.

The Isle have Griffin Reinhart and Ryan Strome coming up next year. They need a goalie and fast. If they get someone, they could turn it around but when you give up 4 a game, you aren't going to win a lot.
well, everyone knew the sabres were going to be bad this year. people had the isles as a team that was going to make serious noise this year. they are, but in a really bad way.

I'm kind of shocked they are doing as bad as they are this season.
They are missing a goalie, Hell all they need is an average one and they would be a much better team.
Their starting goalie is hurt and he's been hurt for a wile now.
There will be plenty of goalies for them to throw some cash at next off season.
The draft pick Buffalo got from them will be a 2015 pick somewhere in the 12-20 range.

Hell.....Isles can ship Vanek off to a team for their current starting goalie and a forward, To the team that lands Miller.
Rangers just picked up the Blackhawks 2008 1st round draft pick (11th) Kyle Beach (LW) for Brandon Mashinter.
Sounds like a bit of a head case but a change may do him some good...He's only 23 and he's 6'3 210.
