Grew up watching Hockey Night in Canada with my dad.
In addition i played in a bunch of AAA tournaments against some really good Toronto teams... Mississauga Reps, Toronto Young Nats...
always envious of those teams... intimidating.

i also grew up watching HNIC. 10 miles west near flint, they didnt get it. we were right at the edge of the windsor local station radius.

Yeah.. am fan of both.
when they play each other in the playoffs... I'll find out where the rubber meets the road.

but are the sabres THAT far off? they are competitive most nights under nolan and are even starting to find some offense. or is it just good coaching, good work ethic, and a great goalie?
Last 2 games has been a better overall display and anything I've seen all year so far.

Heard the third period on SXM in my car and watched the highlights online when I got home- the shorty and the last goal were ****ing sweet.

you act as if this team having a losing record is surprising. like you expected them to compete for the playoffs. this is right about where many thought the team would be. it sucks, but lets take this for what it is. hey, you were appalled by the hockey you were seeing in the first quarter of the season. you should be happy they are at least competitive now.
If we don't lose again this season, we're all set.
What I want and what I expect are two different things. I usually expect the Bills and Sabres to lose- that doesn't make it any less frustrating when it happens, especially when the reasons why it happens are because off bad decisions that mos of us knew were bad from the moment they were made.
i think i bought so hard into the rebuild, i have reserved myself to knowing that this year, and next, are going to be long and difficult. and its for the greater good. so i watch to see players develop, and wins are just a bonus now.
the plus side is, at least theyve taken that first step. theyve become more competitive. more drive. thats an important first step.
Now just rid of Miller & bring up a goalie.

Im in the same boat as Coastal I'm a Leafs and Sabres fan.. Imagine having 2 favourite teams and not seeing either one win a Stanley Cup so far in your lifetime lol

well, maybe im off, but it sure seems like you want to just get rid of miller like hes a problem or something. like getting rid of him will make the team better. now, if you suggested trading miller for a first or a high end prospect , i wouldnt have any beef with that. its all in the wording. without miller, this team is not even close to respectable.
We have to get compensation now or it'll be never..
i dont disagree. unless he signs an extension.
AND why would he do that?
