Not sure that is a good direction for the NFL to be headed.
They should have hired Zimmer IMO.
When he was the coach of the Orlando Predators, he hooked up (he was married with kids) with the girlfriend of a girl I know at a downtown Orlando party district called Church Street. She took him back to her apartment and before they had sex he wanted to take a shower. She swears that as soon as they got in the shower, he kneeled down and begged her to pee on him. She tried, but who can pee under pressure?
"There ought to be a room in every house to swear in. It's dangerous to have to repress an emotion like that." - Mark Twain
Folks in CIN are glad he's gone. Here's a quote in an article by Cincinnati Enquirer beat reporter Joe Reedy:
..."In last Sunday’s 27-10 loss to the Chargers, the Bengals committed four turnovers, including three by AndyDalton. There were also some head-scratching play calls, like going deep on fourth-and-3 and passing on a couple of third-and-1 situations. At a time when (playoff) teams are expected to thrive running the ball, Gruden leaned heavily toward the pass."...
and a quote in an article by the Enquirer's Paul Dehner, Jr.:
..."As A.J. Green acknowledged earlier in the week before this move became official, no ill will exists toward Gruden. “He set himself up for a great opportunity to be in position to be a head coach somewhere,” Green said. “Hats off to him. He did a great job. We’re just going to have to change it. We’ll be ready for any changes that will be made.” (new OC Hue) Jackson comes with a reputation for establishing a proficient running game. In his season as offensive coordinator in Oakland, DarrenMcFadden and Michael Bush combined for 1,812 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. Dalton threw 586 times this past season. Only seven quarterbacks threw more."...

That's an in house upgrade at OC for Cincy
CIN was sad to lose him in 2007 and hired him back in 2012 as a secondary coach and "assistant" special teams coach. In other words, they created a spot for him. I'll wait and see about featuring the run - most all OCs say that than go pass-happy.
I looked at the WAS fan site hailredskins. They were pretty tepid about the Pumpkin hire (local name for him). They are used to coaching merry-go-rounds, and expressed a lot of dislike for the assistant coaches -Jim Haslett in particular. One poster said "Big deal. It's like buying a Savile Road suit and wearing the same underwear for a month."
