If LB Dekoda Watson doesn't strike a deal with the Jags, he'll visit the Bills. But Jacksonville first and maybe last.

Re: Rumor: LB Dekoda Watson may visit the Bills
We have plenty of depth caliber players. Many of them are the starters on our team. We need quality starters and not more low level depth players that we end up paying 3 million a year for and many times end up starting. Only to repeat the entire process the following season or two.
Sure some of them players are nice to have but we already have too many of them types. You want your depth players to be cheap players on rookie contracts or veteran minimum type contracts so it saves more money to pay for your significant starters. Unfortunately we can't hit on them middle round draft picks to give us quality cheap depth so we pay 2-3 million a year for them.Last edited by BillsFever21; 03-11-2014, 07:00 PM.

Watson is a fantastic ST's player and was fantastic for the Bucs when asked to play Sam last year. I picture him as someone who will be a special teams demon and fantastic backup that can start if need be. He would be an excellent addition.

Watson has seen some playing time on defense during his first three seasons. He started one game in 2010 and two more in 2011 during times that Black was battling injuries. He has at times been used as an edge rusher, playing up on the line of scrimmage in three-down-linemen packages. Over his first three seasons he has pitched in with 39 tackles, three tackles for loss, one sack, six quarterback pressures, five passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown in 2011.
Also during that time, only Hayward has had more special teams tackles for the Buccaneers than Watson (36 to 32). No matter what happens in the competition for the starting strongside job, Watson seems almost certain to maintain a significant role in kick coverage. This year, however, his "elite" skills could help the Buccaneers in more ways than one.Last edited by The Jokeman; 03-11-2014, 07:12 PM.
