Sabres might trade the No.1 pick?

I know Eklund has very little credibility.. 2 top prospects the Sabres would supposedly be looking for...

That would be a very smart move, There is no Nathan Mckinnon in this years draft.

I guess it depends on who they get in return.

I wouldn't do It for anything less then a franchise player. A young stud one. So no.

like if montreal offered up galenchyuk, you better believe i would do it.

even if this years draft is a down one, their is some potential franchise players in this draft. so while i would do it for the right players, they would have to be like 22 and younger and studs. not just good players.

Why would they do that? Such a deal has to make sense for both teams.

I think a 3 team deal including 1 2014, a 2015 and 2 players... Pomminville and Roy. Boom. Cup hoisting.

These are the only 2 prospect combos I would give a 2nd thought too trading the No.1 pick

    Griffin Reinhart/Ryan Strome..New York islanders
    Hampus Lindholm/John Gibson.. Anaheim
    Vladimir Tarasenko/Jake Allen... St.Louis
    Evgeny Kusnetsov/Andre Buravkosky... Washington

The 2014 1st overall pick don't have enough value for that type of return.

Most of the players you have listed would be the 1st overall pick in the 2014 draft....LOL

highly doubtful. this draft, while shallow and short on elite talent, has some potential franchise players. and at the very least, the top 3 to 5 are going to produce first line stars and first pairing stars. its not like the talent tops out at third liners.

Very weak draft for defensemen... Almost all of the forwards who will go in the 2nd round have 3rd line ceilings and will most likely be 4th liners or fringe players... However, Reinhart or Bennett although not in the Tavares/Stamkos mold compare very favourably to a Taylor Hall/RNH/Tyler Seguin mold and that is a fairly exciting proposition

yeah, its a shallow draft. but the top end still has some good talent. i like hearing the sam bennett comparisons to dougie gilmour.

Sam Bennett's compete level is enough to chub up any Leafs fan... especially me.

would make an interesting winger for Girgensons.

Re: Sabres might trade the No.1 pick?

Some news I been hearing about the Islanders pick..

They may give Buffalo their 2014 pick and hold onto their 2015 1st since the 2014 draft is so weak.

Sabres take (C) Sam Bennett and (LW) Micheal Dal Colle..

I think Islanders have a legit shot at top three. Can you imagine getting two of three between Ekblad, Reinhart, and Bennett?

It would be great but highly unlikely the Isles would give the Sabres a Top 3 pick..Especially if Garth Snow is still their GM
