You know you're getting old when players you watched as a kid are dying of old age.

RIP to Mr. Morrall, he used to tick me off by beating teams I liked.

Yeah, I feel that too, but sometimes I marvel at who I got to see on the small black and white when I was a kid. Unitas, Starr, Morrall, Blanda, Alcindor/Jabbar, Chamberlain, Walt Frazier, Brooks Robinson, Pete Rose, Deacon Jones, AJ Foyt, Mario Andretti, Richard Petty, Namath, Jean Beliveau, Eddie Giacomin, Bobby Orr, Perreault, Simpson, McAdoo, Ali, Jimmy Young, Joe Frazier, Jean Claude Killy, etc etc etc......

It was a good time to grow up and watch sports without the dollars seeming to always be in your face.

I was about 15 years late to see him play, but when ESPN Classic Sports used to actually show classic sports and not Poker, and instant classics (mostly crap), I remember seeing NFL films footage of him playing for the Fish and Colts. He was the Frank Reich of His time.

Not many teams today can go unbeaten with their backup starting half the time.
