    Coaches

Any rumors or ideas on when the Nolan will be naming his assistant coaches? The prospects camp is next week and I would have expected to have them all on board by then.

Vogl tweet...Sabres are talking to Dale Hawerchuck about one of their assistant coaching openings, Hawerchuck is in the Hockey Hall of Fame and played for the Sabres from 1990-1995, he is currently the head coach for the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League.

Sources: Sabres have reached an agreement with Hall of Famer Bryan Trottier to serve as assistant coach under Ted Nolan.

    Bucky Gleason @TBNbucky · 3h

Trottier won seven Cups -- six as a player and one as coach in Colorado. He's been out of NHL coaching for years, but he brings experience.

Sabres say no announcement is planned, but my sources say Trottier is a done deal. Announcement could come in next week.

I always liked Trottier even as he spanked us year after year. He was a helluva player.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.

WGR 550@WGR55033mBryan Trottier, Danny Flynn and Tom Coolen join the #Sabres staff as assistant coaches. Arturs Irbe is the new goalie coach.

Paul Hamilton@pham17173mKevin Devine and Jon Christiano are still employed by the Sabres. Not sure what their duties will be.
