This is true, I think it has to do with his confidence, he seems afraid to throw unless the receiver has good separation. He had this problem last season and he needs to show some trust that the receiver will make the play even if the throw's not perfect. The TD to Williams was a play where he wasn't afraid to throw it into a tight window and it paid off.
I think Marrone made the right move by keeping the 1st offense in there, they (not just EJ) needed something to build on and hopefully it helps.
It seemed to me that Manuel started to play better when Hackett decided to open up his playbook in the second half. It's hard to know. Critics will chirp about it being against the Bucs second string. But there was a noticeable improvement, and Manuel looked a bit more relaxed to me, in the second half.
As much as I thought that was just for Manuel yesterday, now I think he wanted that o-line to get more snaps as a unit as well.I think Marrone made the right move by keeping the 1st offense in there, they (not just EJ) needed something to build on and hopefully it helps.
