Odin's Hammer thunders down on domestic violence

NFL on domestic violence: 6 games for 1st offense; lifetime ban afterwards

This type of headline - grabbing stuff is what happens when politicians stick their snouts into things. Nobody's in favor of domestic violence. But phony claims of it are used to extract revenge and punishment. I see great potential for mischief here.

I would hope they would only do this in OBVIOUS cases, such as Ray Rice dragging his lady-friend across the casino by her hair.

and that drew 2 games. LOL

I'm surprised the commish didn't apologize to Rice while issuing that penalty. He is completely gutless and doesn't have any clue how the public views this. Then the reaction comes back negative and he suddenly acts all tough.

Then he suspends Josh Gordon an entire year for smoking grass.

    RIDICULOUS.

They're a little late with this.

    Too late to save face.

It was his third offense. Not ridiculous at all. What was ridiculous was the slap on the wrist they gave to Ray Rice.

I understand it was the 3rd offense for Rice, but this is 2014, grass is legal in some States, it is RIDICULOUS that the NFL even tests for it.

I think the NFL instead should study the benefits of grass to NFL players.
