How can we hope that the light magically goes on for EJ?

There is absolutely no evidence of it.

So on the radio today, they were saying that Manuel was at best a third or fourth round talent but because the Bills said they were 100% all about drafting a QB in the first round, and Manuel was the best they thought was available, they took him. Some said that we could have drafted him in the second or third but for whatever reason, One Bills Drive felt it was a risk to do so. Now, because the Bills took the guy in the first round, we have this expectation that he should have all the tools, both mental and physical, and it should have been evident as soon as he stepped foot on the field. Just like Watkins. In my opinion, Manuel does not have the aura and it factor that Watkins has.

It sucks that EJ was taken so early because he clearly doesn't have what it takes to live up to that draft status. So when do we shift the blame from Manuel to the guys who put all their faith into him?

I hate the emphasis on illegal contact, hands to the face etc...the refs have taken the rule way too far to other end of the spectrum. It's bad enough they are ruining the game by continually implementing new rules to help the passing game, but if they call regular season games anywhere near how they are the preseason, they might as well put the whole league in a dumpster.

We bring in EJ, we have Kolb who is supposed to play the season. So, it falls on the rookie QB to make some miracles happen right? Well, with Kolb out, we surround him with veteran leadership... oh wait we gave him 2 UDFA QB's to battle it out with. Then we traded for a nobody in Thad Lewis. Now, this offseason with the all-in on Manuel, what did we do in camp? Let him battle with 3 nobodies again, and 3 days ago we finally bring in a veteran.

That, my friends, is 100% front office incompetence.
