You cannot use the QB issue because the entire reason why Whaley supposedly drafted Watkins, and supported by you and most others here, was because Watkins is so blazing fast that he can catch a simple screen or bubble screen, like he made his reputation off of at Clemson, and turn it into a big gain because of his speed and moves.

So what's your explanation for that?
Why do you ask questions and before an answer can even be given immediately disqualify answers. What is the point of doing that?

Also are you really asking a question based off total receiving yards in Week 3?

What eva! You take away the catches, the yards, and the tds, and Watkins is average at best.

    Re: Watkins Watch

Just a couple of notes...if Sammy has more than 30 yards receiving in a game, the Bills win...if 30 or less, they lose. Obviously that can't hold 100% true, but thus far it is consistent.
If Benjamin has one of his better days (92 yards, 115, 76, 61) the Panthers are 1-3. His 'not' better games (under 50 yards) they are 2-0-1.
Evans has some work to do at this point to even get back to legitimately being in the conversation.

Benjamin has plenty of garbage-time stats.

    Watkins doesn't have any.

Stats are not the indication here at this point...

For any hump that wants to trash the Watkins pick and what they gave up and compare him to Benjamin, they'd have to actually WATCH every Bills and Panthers game; otherwise, they are talking out their ass.

Also, like I've said before, in order to analyze the trade-up for Watkins appropriately, we'd have to know exactly who the Bills would have otherwise picked if the trade-up didn't happen. We'll never know that. Since certain people tend to incessantly ***** no matter what, they'd probably ***** about the players the Bills would have picked instead of Sammy.

    The guy is good.

People should shut up already, especially since the trade is a fact of life now.

You weren't just making this up either. Benjamin's got a 35 yard TD catch vs Pittsburgh. Carolina was down by 24 with 4 minutes left when he made it. That's basically the difference between him and Sammy statswise.

Only 3 catches today for Watkins! Benjamin had 4! What a waste of a draft pick!

More proof that Fletch has his head up his cooloo.

Fletch is a clown. Anyone who can't see what a special talent we have in Sammy Watkins doesn't know football. Period.

Watkins is great. Now we need a solid o-line so the QB can get him the ball more.

Rookie mistake. He didn't do it again the second time.

I thought he did too. Marone was pretty blunt about it in his press con. Said Watkins team mates were pissed. I don't think it will be a problem from here on out.

Maybe so, but we also don't know if he was looking at the Jumbotron and knew no one was behind him.

At any rate, it was a great RAC. He made that little cut back against the grain and split the safety and the corner.

It was a thing of beauty.

    Re: Watkins Watch

Look, there are going to be people who will never be ok with what we gave up to get Sammy. For some people, there isn't a player in the world worth that haul. Maybe they're right. Maybe there isn't. But once we had the pick, you can't dispute using it on Watkins. You just can't. If we did a re-draft today, don't the 3 teams who picked ahead of us consider Watkins? If not, doesn't Cleveland make that pick instead of agreeing to the trade?

We have quite possibly the biggest talent to have entered the league in 2014. I can't fathom being disappointed by that.

    Re: Watkins Watch

I'm just glad he's on our team--and when you have AN ACTUAL QB THROWING HIM THE BALL--the price to get him was absolutely worth it. Just imagine if Marrone never sat EJ's ass on the bench--we'd never get to see Sammy's true potential.
    Oh no!...We suck again!
