    Re: Watkins Watch

Benjamin's biggest games have garbage time yardage and TD's when it doesn't matter.

pitt game he caught a lot in the blowout and his 35 yard td was when they were 3 scores down.

cincy and TB were his other big games. against #15 and #23 rated pass defenses. Pretty stunning.

Watkins had 8 catches vs the number 2 pass defense in miami. please let us know why you'd like to dismiss that performance.

in games they've played hte same team watkins had 3 catches for 31 yards vs chicago (with EJ throwing to him in first game ever) and 7 catches for 87 yards vs detroit.

KB had 3 catches for 38 yards vs chicago playing at home in his fifth game. he was also targeted 11 times while watkins only got 4 looks. seems like sammy is the big winner there.

KB had 2 catches for 46 yards against detroit in his second game. So we'll give him the nerves. But he was playing at home and watkins played on the road with clutch catches to help win the game.

    oh those pesky facts.

Don't you think that would have been a huge risk. specifically with his slow time?

You have the luxury of hindsight. that he's performing ok right now. but we didn't hear much from you at the time of the trade for watkins.

At the start of the season you were all about how mike evans would have been a good choice, then that stopped when he fell off a cliff.

you are the classic poster who just relies on some stats to make an argument and when it falls apart you go way. so why is it that you are still here?

You say that you think it's coming, and it may come, but Benjamin's making those kinds of catches routinely in Carolina and he's putting up good numbers in every game, not just showing up every other game against the lesser secondaries in the league.

Name one top CB that Watkins has made a great play against?

Before the Jets game the longest reception by Watkins was 30 yards. Benjamin has generally played better until the Jets game. It's tough to make one game and two catches mean as much as just about everyone seems to want to make it here.

No one can argue Watkins contributions to a couple of wins, but you also can't argue Benjamin's contributions to Carolina's wins and overall offensive play as well. He's their leading WR too.
I did see it. I saw a 6'5" receiver out jump two other guys. I also saw him drop a potential winning TD. I stick by my Vincent Jackson comparison. I get that you like Benjamin but he wasn't even the next receiver off the board. At least 3 other receiver needy teams disagree with your assessment. Tell me in your opinion, does Benjamin make either of those long plays against the Jets?

If only Fletch was our GM. He's such a genius he would of traded down to the 20's picked up an extra first and drafted Benjamin.

You realize the signing bonus difference between #1 and #28 is about 15 million dollars, right?

Waste of time. Watkins could go for 137 receptions for 1,600 yards and 23 TD's next year and this guy will still say the trade wasn't worth it. It's a waste of time even humoring him. Free yourself from this. You're never going to convince him otherwise. You might as well talk to your keyboard, you'd have a better chance of convincing it that the trade was worthwhile. Don't waste your time. I hope I've saved you some time and sanity.

    Yep.

He also dropped a touchdown pass.

Got a nice run called back because he held.

    Re: Watkins Watch

But....but.....but..... Benjamin has never been shut down by a corner before and had consistently put up numbers every game!

And Watkins was held in check by some bum before that I've never heard of called revis.

In all seriousness though, Benjamin has a 4 inch advantage and was shut down last night.
    I came.
    I saw.
    I conquered.

Here's 3 questions. What would Carolina's record be without Benjamin? What would the Bills record be without Watkins? Who has contributed more to winning games?
    Case closed.

    Re: Watkins Watch

out of curiousity, should we be discounting watkins performance against KC since they are the #2 rated defense in yards given up, #1 pass defense on passing yards given up and #10 on rushing?

I just want to know when we are allowed to use numbers to make a case. because if watkins has a big game, we get to say he did it against the best, and if he ****s the bed, we get to say, "but you can't count that performance".

Hey, it's kind of awesome to be fletch/very wide right.

    Re: Watkins Watch

Now what is your hate for Benjamin and why all the love for Sammy Watkins. I promise you that Watkins won't have any of the numbers Benjamin has this week. He's off, I mean way off this week. Don't give me its the Bye Week, because every active receiver in the league will have better numbers than Watkins.

You and I both don't need to wonder.

Check this quote from our old pad from before in this very thread:

I noticed that no one bumped this thread this week. I'm curious as to why not.

Kinda sucks for everyone when they realize that I actually know what I'm talking about, don't it.

If anyone wants the updated numbers just ask, I'll be happy to post them.
People bump this thread after Watkins has a good week, or was crucial to a Bills win, and he's absent. Then he pulls this **** when numbers aren't put up. I don't care what happens in the long term; this just speaks volumes about Filth...

This above comment posted first thing in the morning the day after the Chargers game.

If anything this thread is predictable.

When Watkins plays well everyone who loves him bumps it, when he plays poorly Fletch does.

It means that throughout the entire season we will be sure to see this post on page 1!
