Signed with the Vikings as an undrafted rookie in 2011. Looks like he's only really played on ST. Not very big for a LB at 6'0" 227 lbs.
No real loss with Meeks. Didn't really expect him to contribute much this season. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't even make the team next year.

Also, this move only leaves 3 safeties on the roster right now. Any injury to A. Williams or Searcy and I think we'll probably see Corey Graham move over to safety with Gilmore and McKelvin both returning to full time roles at CB.

Don't like carrying only three safeties, but Meeks has been inactive the first two weeks and they do have Ladler and Broomfield on the PS.

Agreed Graham is playing a hybrid CB/S role with the Bills now yet we still have to see Cockrell play as he's another guy that could be a hybrid to move up the rotation if Graham has to play more S. This Dean guy looks like a solid STer and although he has S size he was given a LB number. If anything he might be a guy we can play on coverage ST and let Woods focus more on offense if he dresses. Of course he has ties to our LB so maybe he'll be a quick study here and add to our depth at LB and make a younger guy not suit up.

Sounds like they are trying to get better at nickel lb. Spikes isn't exactly great on passing downs.
I just think they're just trying to get better on special teams.
