BS. Nix did more damage than anyone. The team is still years away. No QB, no real #1 TE, questionable O-line at G, mediocrity at DB. When he left we didn't even have any of our 3 (which by the way is ridiculous) Ps or PKs.
During the Nix years his moves were nothing special and he was the GM of record who reached for EJ. If W-L were $, Nix would have driven the team into bankruptcy.
How much would you give up for Brady right now?
Is he going to Joe Montana out of New England?
It all depends on the specific quarterback you are talking about.
QBs are like gold in this league. Unless someone is being an idiot, any kind of halfway proven decent QB in the NFL is not for sale. Say what you want, but the whole organization is basically built around these guys once you get them. And it's SO hard to find one.
Look at what Josh McDaniels did with Jay Cutler in Denver...this is an example of the idiocy that I'm talking about, trading him away to da Bears like that. Yeah, Cutler is a second-tier quarterback, but a situation where a team trades a guy like that is rare. I guess this is the type of thing you are talking about?
Whaley should constantly be on the phone regardless. The scouts should have QB on top of their list. Some kind of deal could always be swung to nab a guy in the draft, maybe including some players. They'd have to feel very, very strongly about that player to do anything drastic. The problem with the 2013 draft is that the Bills had their hearts set on getting a QB high no matter what...no matter what the market was like. That's a mistake. Like they finally realized that they needed a quality QB, but were victims of what the market had to offer.

Nix's legacy is tied to EJ. It isn't looking good right now.
I feel that we are good at QB.
I'd give up a 3rd round pick for Brady and odds are it's too low to get him. As I outlined earlier I question how well he'd succeed here as I don't think we have the parts that will have him return to his old form. As bad as they're playing I think the Patriots have a better collections of WRs then we do and sure as heck have a better TE. Yes our RBs are better but think our O-lines are even with us maybe having a slight edge.
