Larkin is a decent prospect.. Good at a lot of things but not elite at anything.. Could be a 2nd line Centre and if he played on a good/great team he could be a very effective 3rd line Centre..

EKLUND ALERT!
the sabres are in talks with dallas in a nichushkin for myers deal.
dont believe it for a second, but still thought it warranted a mention, if for nothing else a laugh/=.
Why on earth would Dallas do that?
if by some miracle it did, i wouldnt complain.

I was pissed at Darcy for passing on Nichushkin for Risto.. Time will tell who the better player will be.. So many rumours regarding Myers.. Myers to the Oilers for Nail Yakupov.. Myers to the Mighty Ducks for Nick Ritchie and Richard Rakell
Forget Mike Babcock speculation: Focus on Tyler Myers
Clearly, Holland is not a doofus. His team is first in the Eastern Conference and second overall in the NHL today and this is not a smoke-and-mirrors thing. When healthy and when they get decent goaltending, the Red Wings are a legitimate contender. And they also have a well-stocked pipeline of prospects, both on their American League team and in the system.
Which brings us to a whole other area of speculation when it comes to the Red Wings. There’s little secret they would like to add a defenseman and the two names that keep coming up are Tyler Myersof the Buffalo Sabres and Mike Green of the Washington Capitals. The speculation is that the prospect of getting Myers, something that has been percolating all season and is still very much alive, is the top priority. If that fails, the Red Wings figure they can pick Green up as a relatively inexpensive rental player.
And this is where things get interesting. I’m told the asking price from the Sabres for Myers is prospectDylan Larkin, a roster player along the lines of a Riley Sheahan or Tomas Jurco, and a first-round pick.

Right now, he's worth a large return with his game returning. At the same time, why trade him?
He must be getting very good that is when this group gets rid of players for Prospects and lottery draft picks that almost NEVER work out. They say they are rebuilding but if you keep getting rid of people all the time nothing will ever come together. They have no first class goalie now after last years trade and what did we get for that, more draft picks which in hockey are not like football. In this sport they are a million to one shot of working out. Once in a great while one will but almost never. NO MORE TRADES unless you can get a PROVEN STAR player in return.
as far as i can tell, hes not being shopped. his name is out there due to teams wanting him, and murray listening to offers. if a team, like the wings, blows murrays socks off with an offer, he would take it.
but seeing how myers game has turned around, i dont see a trade happening. maybe it will, but im not holding my breath.
