he also said he doesnt believe any team is tanking to draft him, so i suppose thats a moot point.
secondly, lets pretend for a minute its true and he believes buffalo is tanking to get him. so what? buffalo owns his rights, and until hes 27. so 9 years of his career (give or take)
so lets say hes unhappy to be drafted by buffalo, but nothing he can do about it, so he plays. and as the youth bands together, the team gets better. by the time his UFA age comes up, the sabres are one of the best teams in the league, has been for a few years. do you really believe for one second mcdavids going to say, "you know, we are good, but when i was 17, i was against the sabres tanking, and now, a decade later, im going to refuse to sign with the sabres for their poor season before i was drafted."
yeah, no. not going to happen.
could he hold out for a trade? sure, but unlikely. an 18 year forcing a trade before he steps foot on the ice? its happened (lindros) and his reputation as a selfish player was cemented. mcdavid seems more polished and more a team first guy, so its unlikely he makes those kind of waves. he could hold out and re-enter the draft 2 years later, but again, as the first overall pick, that is extremely unlikely. too risky, and again, risks his reputation.
so this is all moot, in so many ways. and especially since he doesnt feel thats happening.
Is anyone watching this broadcast?
The Sabre announcers are pissed off at the Sabres effort.
That was better than Unisom.
...Rob
The American Dream isn't an SUV and a house in the suburbs;
it's Don't Tread On Me.
I watched Bruce Almighty last night because I figured it's the only way I'll seethe Sabres win anytime soon.
Actually I watched it because I've never seen it before and none of the new movies we wanted to watch are on Netflix yet. But what I said before sounds better.
Can the Sabres lose their 10th consecutive tonight?
Sabres are actually playing well, refs doing everything in their power to make the Sabres lose, Filthy getting away with all the penalties WHAT ELSE IS NEW! I've counted 11 penalties that the Flyers should have had and they have only gotten 2 of them while the Sabres lead a parade to the penalty box
Tyler Ennis (10) Backhand shot - ASST: Matt Moulson (11), Rasmus Ristolainen (5)2 - 2 Tie
Actually made it to the 2nd period, then... zzz...
Enroth. Was. Terrible
Didn't even know there was a game on.
And really didn't care either.
11 consecutive losses.
Great way to go into the All-Star Break.
Neuvirth gonna miss some time, Hackett called up.
Stewart is warming up at least.
One tipped power play goal when no one was defending him doesn't exactly equate to "warming up".
Wooohoo...last place! *sigh*
Shall we go for a baker's dozen? Against the Oilers no less.
