Have the Bruins ever rebuilt?
Sabres beat the wings!
Sorry we don't live up to a bandwagon Bruins fans standards.
and somehow thats a reflection on a fanbase that has no control over the happenings on the ice.
good argument!
Sabres look slightly more competitive recently
Next game is against the oilers.
I expect them to improve over the course of the season. Not that they will acually be good this year, but the 4-0 and 5-0 games should go away.
I didn't see the Montreal game, but 2-1 in a shootout sounds like the d and goaltending held up. The lack of offense remains a huge problem. Stafford's overdue for his contract year hat trick.
Why do you say that? Because the Sabres were able to find deals that no GM in their right mind would pass up for guys that were leaving in free agency anyway?
And it doesn't take a genius to understand, despite the gallows humor around here, that teams can't "tank intentionally" and be guaranteed anything. The Sabres were in last place by 20 points last year and still didn't get the top pick.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.
thats the rub. its not like those guys were staying, so any good GM moves those guys for youth. murray actually did REALLY well last deadline.
and, as ****ty as this is, drew stafford is tied for the team lead in points. as an upcoming UFA, i hope murray can get something for him for a team looking for secondary scoring help.
the defense and goaltending is getting better, especially neuvirth. there are some positive signs here and there, but really, everyone is more focused on mcdavid and eichel. many forget the kids on the farm having strong seasons. or the fact that even though hes back in kootnay, reinhart has the making of a cornerstone forward himself. not quite at the level of the upcoming draft, but a seriously strong star player.
