Sabres win in a shootout.
Eichel with some very good plays out there, but still looks raw on many shifts. You can see the skill and talent, just needs a little more polish. It's close.

The game was outstanding. Both teams played it tight and Toronto got a lucky bounce early in the game to take the lead. Kane just ripped his shot the second it reached his stick. So many good chances earlier that just missed.
This team looks so much better than the last few years and it will eventually show up in the victory column. Johnson isn't bad at all in goal and the Sabres may make a waiver claim on former Calgary #1 Karri Ramo today.

They played hard and got some scoring chances, but 55 scoreless minutes at home against Toronto?
I expect some defensive lapses out of this team, especially with suspect goaltending and Bogosian still out. I just expected a little more offense. If you told someone a month ago that a team with Kane, Ennis, ROR, Moulson, Eichel and Reinhardt was only going to have 11 goalies through six games and only one game where they scored more than 2, I don't think they'd believe it.Comment
