I only saw the third period. No sustained possession. Bottled up in their own end. Still they had several good chances. Kane's goal was fortunate. Hard angle but he put it in the few inches available. And good for him. He's been playing so well. He, Eichel, and Ennis are the most noticeable players on the ice.

They were fortunate on the non-call against Kane, but it was nice to see Phaneuf get bloodied. Better yet that he got a call against himself later.

The officiating was terrible because there was phantom offsides called on the Sabres and they missed a blatant trip on Risto when he was rushing the net. So, we got one missed call in our favor and two that went against us.

Sabres may make a waiver claim on former Calgary #1 Karri Ramo today.

I guess that's better than suiting up a video scout like they did a few years ago.

The officiating was terrible because there was phantom offsides called on the Sabres and they missed a blatant trip on Risto when he was rushing the net. So, we got one missed call in our favor and two that went against us.

Missed a trip on Eichel in the corner too. Brutal. On the other hand, the PP sucks so all a penalty gives us is two minutes less pressure in our own end.

PP was 9th in the league heading into last night, where I believe it went 0-4. I wouldn't say that sucks. PK hasn't been good, PP has been fine

They played hard and got some scoring chances, but 55 scoreless minutes at home against Toronto?

I expect some defensive lapses out of this team, especially with suspect goaltending and Bogosian still out. I just expected a little more offense. If you told someone a month ago that a team with Kane, Ennis, ROR, Moulson, Eichel and Reinhardt was only going to have 11 goalies through six games and only one game where they scored more than 2, I don't think they'd believe it.

Unless, of course, YOU were the one being told that. Then you'd not only believe it, but you'd troll an otherwise irrelevant thread because of it for at least a month.

Yeah, you're right. In truth, I only saw the PP for that Phaneuf penalty so I shouldn't have generalized it like that. I think I was in a pissy mood when I wrote that having just hear Manuel is starting Sunday.

This Montreal team. Best I've seen in at least a decade. Using a game against them as a barometer for how far we've come and how far we have yet to go is kind of silly.
