All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

I only saw the third period. No sustained possession. Bottled up in their own end. Still they had several good chances. Kane's goal was fortunate. Hard angle but he put it in the few inches available. And good for him. He's been playing so well. He, Eichel, and Ennis are the most noticeable players on the ice.
They were fortunate on the non-call against Kane, but it was nice to see Phaneuf get bloodied. Better yet that he got a call against himself later.
I got to go to that game. gave me a better perspective on why no goals are scored in the NHL anymore.
first the sabres issues
- Eichel's line has zero chemestry. there is a lot of individual talent on the line and zero chemestry.
- ROR line doesn't have any skilled goal scores, they got a lot of pressure, with nothing to show
- the 3rd and 4th lines are invisible, really the 4th line never gets ice time and the 3rd is a joke, we're half a hockey team right now
- Johnson is shaky as all hell. he's too weak on the puck, is a poor handler of the puck, and opens up a lot of holes when he's scrambling. just never will be better then a no.2 goaltender
NHL scoring issues-
PROBLEM AS I SEE IT: It looks like teams are playing in the defensive zone as if they're on a penalty kill even at even strength, they clog the middle of the ice, and keep their sticks and bodies in passing lanes, forcing everything to the outside. basically while shots do get through they are usually bad angle or long distance shots with a low chance of going in. It doesn't look like goallies are any better then they were in the past, just the quality of scoring chances is WAY down.
Some solutions-
1) penalize any defensive player who leaves his feet intentionally to block a pass call it an unsportsmanlike, or something give him 2 minutes in the box
2) reward a penalty shot every time a defensive player (not the goaltender) intentionally blocks a shot, call it goaltending, like in basketball; this rule might need a little work but i think it could be easily justified as a player safety issue. In the event they stopped what the ref assumes might have been a sure goal, the ref has the power to reward the goal instead.
3) remove the blue line
4) reward a penalty shot every time a defensive player covers the puck causing play to stop (currently this is the penalty in the goal crease, extend it to their half of the ice)
5) institute a shot-clock
6) make zone defenses (when not killing penalties) illegal
7) institute a basketball style 3 second rule, in a rectangular area formed by the faceoff dots and the goal-line
8) make all penalties in the "3-second" zone an automatic 5 minute major or penalty shot (team's choice)
i don't think you need to institute all of these, but just instituting some of them should increase scoring and change the game back to hockey and away from "soccer on ice"
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.
I think just options 1, 2, and 4 would be enough to bring life back into a hockey game. i just was tossing out a bunch of ideas that will improve scoring.

stop the lawyers and the refs from ruining this game.
