Eichel is in a mini slump production wise, but he was all over the ice tonight. He looked great.

Yeah, eichel has some maturing to do, but I'm very impressed. He just needs the right guys to work with. He doesn't really have stellar wings to play with. He's pretty much doing it alone most of the time.

hes doing it alone because that's the way he plays the game. He doesn't make the people around him better... like McDavid does. He needs people around him that serve his talents. Totally different players.

Bylsma is having a hard time finding wingers for him... Matthew Tkachuck seems like the kind of guy he needs (board battler, insane net front presence, defensive forward... probably why Girgensons is having some success with him.

I don't know... he's one of those enigmatic talents hat doesn't quite flow with the game like a normal person.

Eichel is going to win Cups. Some of the same folks questioning Eichel also wanted to trade Samson. A little more maturing and more dangerous linemates will make a world of difference.
And really, comparing him to McDavid, a generational talent? Beyond that, I still say Eichel is built for playoff hockey. Let's see how McDavid does when the ice becomes much smaller. Oh, that's assuming Edmonton finds a way to actually make the playoffs. Can they make it five #1s overall in seven years?

I missed almost the first half of the game, tuned in just in time to see 8 of the 9 goals. Risto was in everybody's face, all night. Great shorty by Foligno. Eichel just seems a half bubble off sometimes, but his PP goal was a beauty how he set it up and took advantage of Reinhart's screen.

Eichel is the guy in beer league who always has the puck, has his hands together of the stick to make it longer and dangles everyone. But he tries too hard and nothing happens when it has to. He's close but he's gotta figure out how to use others. That'll come with age and having better linemates

McDavid might just be the next Gretzky. If he had not been in the draft, Eichel would not be wearing blue and gold.
Eichel is a legit franchise centerpiece, a talent capable of leading a team to championships.
