Reinhart scored. You know, third liner. Eichel with the apple.

    Frustrating.

The physicality isn't even close in CBJ's favor, and whoever made the decision to plunk three guys on the ice for their first ever NHL game (especially considering one is a goalie) on fan appreciation night should be called a dumbass.

Gotta have a big third period.

This Jackets game is like a flashback to last year. Several dumb mistakes in the 2nd period.

Risto was to blame for those last two goals. Ill chalk it up to having to play so many minutes this late in the season.

Welcome to the NHL Jason Kasdorf.

You're not in college any more.

    And they're not tanking?

above .500 I am sure was a team motivating goal heading into the last 10 games of the season.

and Murray took it from them.

$10 you'll hear something from him prior to the draft about a significant talent drop off after pick 7.

I have no problem with them playing the kids with 2 games left and seeing what they have. Pretty standard practice around the league for this to happen.

Murray said awhile ago on WGR the drop off is after pick 3...From 4 to 12 according to him there is not much separation...And Id agree with him somewhat I don't think he is lying or smokescreening when he says that..

I think it is at about pick 6 to 12 where the differences in the prospects expected to go there are razor thin so teams in that picking range now I doubt they are tanking the last few games to improve there chances by 1 or 2%

Can we cut the tanking crap? I heard Murray on SXM on my way home from work before the game. He said that they're to end up picking from 7-12 and there are a lot of good prospects and options in that range. He also said he wanted to get the rookies their first NHL experience in a game that doesn't affect the playoff race, which is why he chose yesterday instead of today.

And I completely respect that. Imagine we were jockeying for playoff position with, say, the Leafs and the team playing the Leafs in the last game of the season decided it was a good time to get 3 rookies their first start, all but guaranteeing that the Leafs win. I'd be livid.

I don't either, but not on fan appreciation night.

OK, that's a decent rationalization, I can buy into that.

Fan appreciation night is all well and good, but I think it's good these kids got their night as well. Plus, injuries. Boo is out tonight. Wonder who is gonna play for him.

They weren't tanking. Not at all.

You're contradicting yourself anyway. If they were tanking, it would be to move up in the draft and get a better player. They wouldn't do it to not get any better. Losing one game doesn't really make a difference at this point of the year.

    You're trying to hard.............

And as a fan that attended the last home, I couldn't care less. 3 kids got their shot, one of whom is a hometown kid. The only one that hurt them at all was Kasdorf. Schneider and Rodriquez were fine. Is there that much difference with Fasching and Cal O'Reilly?

The Sabres finish the season 27 points better than they ended last season and will have the eigth best opportunity at winning the NHL Draft Lottery.

Eichel is finishing strong and should make a good impression with 40 points in the last 47 games.

Gostisbehere, Larkin, and Domi are all on the outside looking in at this point.
So it's Panarin, McDavid, and Ghostbear. I'm a bit disappointed that Eichel didn't get a nod though it's not a big deal. I think Ghostbear is deserving considering his 22 game pt streak which led the Flyers into the playoffs. The anointed one, McDavid, is an automatic especially with the Canadian writers. It wouldn't have gone over well if two Americans and a Russian were tapped and not the "next Wayne Gretzky", especially since there are no stinkin' canuck teams in the playoffs.
Lehner's history. He just doesn't know it yet.

Haha it's a conspiracy. It has nothing to do with the fact that he was like third in points per game in the entire league or was rookie of the month in every month he played. I appreciate the NHL keeping the canadian fans happy since we have long shown to be fickle fans who don't support our teams. ROFL.

I was just being sarcastic. McDavid deserves to be a finalist. Eichel would have deserved it too, but took two months to really emerge as a candidate. He peaked at the end when guys like Larkin disappeared.
