Pavel Datsyuk confirms he is leaving the Red Wings at season's end
according to Albom, Datsyuk first got the itch to return to Russia permanently when he played there during the NHL's last lockout in 2012. Red Wings general manager Ken Holland and owners Mike and Marian Illitch convinced him to stay the length of his contract, which has one more year left on it.Datsyuk has a teenage daughter in Russia and wants his family to be together, telling Albom that, "I have overstayed."
