All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. NHLPA to file grievence over John Sccott trade... NHLPA reports Prior to this, John Scott was asked by both the National Hockey League and the Arizona Coyotes to reconsider his decision to accept a spot on the team that was awarded to him by a fan vote. He refused to do that.
I can tell you that the Montreal Canadiens had no interest whatsoever in getting John Scott in this trade. The Arizona Coyotes wanted him to be included... A lot of people have conspiracy theories. Whatever the case may be, but it was Arizona who wanted him in this trade.

NEW YORK –John Scott will captain the Pacific Division team at the 2016 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend in Nashville, the National Hockey League announced today.
Scott, elected to the Pacific Division captaincy in fan voting while a member of the Arizona Coyotes, was traded Friday to the Montreal Canadiens of the Atlantic Division. The resultant change in division, and Scott’s subsequent assignment to the American Hockey League, created a unique circumstance that required review – the result of which was a determination to maintain the status quo for the All-Star weekend in order to preserve all parties' pre-existing expectations, including Scott’s desire to participate.
NHL Network...NHL has now gotten into Detroit's water lead situation, Bill Daly Deputy Commissioner and chief legal officer of the National Hockey League in an email yesterday is urging all teams that have played in Detroit since the news broke about Detroit's water being contaminated with lead to have the players tested for lead poisoning. Daly also says in the email that "we know the players have drunk the water, there are waterbottles on the bench, the water bottles on the top of the nets that the goalies drink out of and we also know that players have showered in it"

Hurray the NHL is afraid to piss off the fans and therefore let AHL talent headline their All Star game. Way to water down the product. Nobody wants to see Scott play ice hockey. Especially in the NHL All Star game.
What I don't understand is why Scott isn't bowing out on his own accord.

The way I see it is some jackalopes wanted to make a funny at Scott's expense. It's pretty low. On the other hand, Scott took it in stride and decided to run with it. It was pretty low for the NHL, the Coyotes and the Habs to collude like that and humiliate the guy and his family. Scott's a crummy player but I always heard he was a stand-up guy.
Recall when this happened to another former Sabre, Rory Fitzpatrick. IIRC, he was leading the polls when suddenly, with a few days to go, voting for him mysteriously dried up.
Just get rid of fan voting already. And after that, just get rid of the damned all star game. All of them. They're stupid. And more so when fans get to pick.
