Or if we can get anything worth while as his production slips further and further behind last years pace. I think a team looking for grit/leadership at the deadline will be happy to give us something for a 2 time cup winner. At least I hope.

You'll get plenty for him. The next 3 weeks will play out fun.

More fickle than a teenaged girl.

Again, murray dumped expiring contracts and aging players for assets. Not exactly a new trend. But let's display faux outrage over it now cause you have a tim murray obsession.

McDavid with 5 pts tonight. That kid is good. Anyone think he can score enough to get him in to the Calder discussion? He has 13 pts in 7 games since his return.

he was skating backwards/pivoting, as much as it is knee on knee, it didn't look intentional. 2 min for kneeing absolutely.

I don't think we are talking about the same hit. The one where he got ejected for a hit to the head

No, Dan catenacci was tied up reaching for a puck with a flyer. Gudas came in and hit him hard in the head.

Evander kane slipped practice last night after attending the NBA all star game. Called GMTM and bylsma, but they suspended him for tomorrow's game against ottawa. That sucks, especially with how well he is playing, but kid needs a wake up call.

Flames President/GM Brian Burke wants bigger NHL ice surfaces

Calgary Flames president Brian Burke wants the NHL to adopt a bigger ice surface.

Burke said he’s not interested in making the ice international sized (200 x 100 feet), but he’s proposing the best method is to go 200 x 90 feet.
“When I was GM of the [Vancouver] Canucks, I felt the ice was too congested for the size and skill we had on our team. I thought the size of the ice surface affected my team’s ability to excel. That’s where it started for me.”
Burke suggested the changes would be good for hockey and said the extra five feet would make “a big difference in the quality of hockey.” He said slightly more room would make it easier for players to navigate.
“If you really think about it, it’s crazy that we are still using the same size ice surface as we started with in hockey,” Burke added. “The players have gotten so much bigger and stronger. There’s not enough room out there. It’s too congested. An extra five feet would make a big difference.”
changing something as big as the ice surface is always a tough sell to hockey traditionalists, and there’s the problem of most existing NHL arenas not being configured to hold wider than 85 feet. Expanding would be costly and would come at the cost of premium seats being ripped out.

Burke apparently lobbied the Piitsburgh Penguins, who were opening the Consol Energy Center in 2010, to try to the wider ice configuration. He also went to the Edmonton Oilers on their new arena. Both attempts were unsuccessful. Despite the failed attempts, Detroit Red Wings senior vice president Jim Devellano is a proponent of the idea, and said when Detroit gets its new rink, it'll be capable of expanding to 90 feet.
