To beat the Pats, you have to be able to run the ball

    Miami, KC both did that.

The Jets were running the ball on them, too and were a long field goal away to beat them.

If I recall last year's playoff game at Denver, Moreno went off on the Pats.

If anyone think Orton can just go pass pass pass to beat the Brady bunch, just look at Peyton and the Broncos. Peyton >>>> Orton, Broncos receivers > Bills receivers. The result? Blown out. And it's not like Peyton had a bad game. I believe the Pats CB position is really solidified this year. The only way to beat them is the ability to run on them.

For the Bills, getting turnover thing fixed was the top priority going into the Jets game. Fixing the running game is widely stated as the number 1 task in the bye week. We'll see what they accomplish next Sunday.

Pressure Brady is the way to beat them.
It's the way to beat all QBs.

Yep. You have to get to him with your front 4. Pressure and cover with 7. It's the only way to beat him.

Smack Brady in the mouth and run like hell. Easier said than done, though...
    Bye Bye Brady...

Re: To beat the Pats, you have to be able to run the ball

If the Pats score early and have the lead you can't run on them. The Pats D is built to shut down the passing game not the run. The problem is this , the Pats have put up more points then any other team in the NFL so far this season.

When Brady has the ball the chances are points on the scoreboard. You can run on them, but you better get in the end zone every time you have the ball. If not you will find your team behind by the 2d 1/2 and not able to match drive for drive with points.

Today was a case in point. The Pats took the lead and Denver couldn't stop Brady. The Pats D was able to cover Denver's WR enough to stop them a few times.

    Game set match .
The NFL forgot the main component of any business model, the customer.

Running the ball certainly helps, ball control limits the Pats opportunities to put points on the board, but an offense needs to stick the ball in the end zone themselves and the defense needs to get pressure that leads to turnovers.

The ability to run the ball is the key.

Honestly do you think the Bills defense can do much better than they have done thus far (i.e. some undiscovered guy having a career year the next 8 games)? It's not the Bills D that's bad in 2nd half against Brady. He's doing that to everyone now. I don't know you can ever count on pressure that leads to turnovers against QB of Brady/Manning caliber. But you can count on your running game to score long TD drives to limit their opportunities, which is proven in NFL history to be the best way beating teams with HOF QBs.

IMO the Bills D got owned in the second half in the game here. Didn't the Pats score on every possession in the third and fourth quarters? Despite the lop-sideness of the end result, a single turnover, short field that led to a TD for us and it's an entirely different ball game.

We aren't ready to beat New England...it's the only team I would feel hopeless against if we played them in the postseason this year.
    Oh no!...We suck again!
