Detroit radio station promotes "Green Monday"

And this is why that was a stupid move on Schwartz's part, and why he should never be our HC. Don't do dumb things, they will always come back to haunt you.*

When the New York Giants and Minnesota Vikings played at Ford Field in 2010 -- the game was moved because the Metrodome roof collapsed -- the announced crowd exceeded 40,000.
I doubt it will be over that for this game.

It's a protection mechanism.

You shroud your childish approach in a vale of pompous, intellectual garbage in an attempt to look smart and "real". You over-analyze even minute points and manipulate statistics to fit your negative view of the team. Again, to feel good about yourself and to protect from getting hurt.

Of course, the criticisms are obviously from someone who has no understanding of the team concept or what it takes to excel at athletics.

The true "realist" understands that they have no control of what happens on the field or behind the closed doors at One Bills' Drive, so they do the prudent thing for a spectator. They enjoy the games on Sunday with family and friends, cheer for their team and realize that it's just entertainment.

"I was an integral part in the drafting process of EJ Manuel," Whaley said Thursday on NFL Network's Total Access. "I was the person that handled the draft process and setting up the board."

"We are committed. I want you to believe me when I say that," Whaley said of building around the second-year quarterback, per The Buffalo News. "I always tell you guys that I'll never say never because I don't want to paint myself in a corner, but when I do say something, I do it and I mean it and I try to fulfill it."

"We believe the addition of Sammy is going to be instant impact, not only to our quarterback, but to what our offensive coordinator can come up with game-plan wise and how defenses attack us," Whaley said.

Whaley on EJ Manuel: "We think we got a gem in this guy." (2:30)

"And as Mark says, if in three years maybe he's not [our quarterback of the future], then I'll be sitting there saying 'hey guys', .... anybody got a job for me?" - Doug Whaley

Terrestrial radio is dead...anyways how many people would show up at the Ralph on a Monday night between two neutral teams if Mularkey or Greggggg Williams showed up as coordinator for one of those teams just to cheer on the opposition?

They just reported on the local news that all of the tickets have been scooped up, so it's 'officially' a 'sell-out'.

Don't know the logistics behind the entire scenario, though, considering they have no clue how many actual Bill's fans with paid-for tickets are planning on showing up.

70 thousand plus would show up, What else are you doing in the Buffalo area on a Monday night that a free NFL game was not good enough?

I know what Schwartz did was inappropriate however the game is being moved due devastation to the Buffalo area where people died, roofs collapsed, people were stranded in cars, etc.. One would of hoped they would support the people of Western New York and root for the Bills.
If they turn it into a Jets home game and turn their back on the people of Buffalo I will put Detroit fans in the same class as Philly fans.

Good deal for the folks there - probably going to be a relatively "kid-friendly" venue - Lions aren't playing, and the outcome doesn't affect their playoff hopes.

I'll make a friendly wager with you on that.

For starters, the tix in Detroit were free, secondly, I haven't read anywhere where they've said how many free tix were given away, but one source thought it to be south of 1K. How many of those tix that were purchased were purchased by Jets fans? It's always a lot for the Jets and Pats who have more difficulty getting tix for their home games.

Besides, it was able to "sellout" because the capacity at Ford Field is 9K less than at RWS.

I just don't think that many Buffalonians make that trip. They'd need a passport to make a reasonable trip through Canada, twice each way. But more than that they've gotta go through all that snow just to leave the area. Going down 90 doesn't seem to make sense.

But to me the biggest reason is that Buffalonians have so much more to be preoccupied with at this point that I simply don't see making a trip like this for a meaningless game in a different city to rank that high on their priority list. We sit here and talk about the team but how many people can't get out to get food, supplies, are worried about their roofs collapsing, flooding, etc.

I can see maybe 10-20K fans, tops, making that trip. Especially since refunds/credit have been offered.
