    herm edwards comment

i do very much so respect herm edwards opinion and love the way the man carries himself anyway........

commenting on geno smith i just heard him say 3000 snaps is what u need to evaluate a qb.

now i know for sure EJ is no where near 3000 snaps at qb.

my question is this when was the last time we had a QB take 3000 snaps for the buffalo bills

3000 snaps is too high.. He is saying you need to give a QB 3 seasons of 16 games played to be able to make a determination

I disagree with Edwards. That's almost 3 full years. You pretty much know after 2 if a guy is ever going to get it.

    Roughly 6 seasons?

Maybe that's why Herm Edwards was 54-74 as a head coach.

"I was an integral part in the drafting process of EJ Manuel," Whaley said Thursday on NFL Network's Total Access. "I was the person that handled the draft process and setting up the board."

"We are committed. I want you to believe me when I say that," Whaley said of building around the second-year quarterback, per The Buffalo News. "I always tell you guys that I'll never say never because I don't want to paint myself in a corner, but when I do say something, I do it and I mean it and I try to fulfill it."

"We believe the addition of Sammy is going to be instant impact, not only to our quarterback, but to what our offensive coordinator can come up with game-plan wise and how defenses attack us," Whaley said.

Whaley on EJ Manuel: "We think we got a gem in this guy." (2:30)

"And as Mark says, if in three years maybe he's not [our quarterback of the future], then I'll be sitting there saying 'hey guys', .... anybody got a job for me?" - Doug Whaley

Most passes thrown last season in today's era pass silly NFL was 659 by Manning. Last year's team, not QB, but team average was 566. That's about 6 seasons.

Point being, even more so to your point.

You pretend not to be, but you're an EJ sycophant.

    Face it, he's done here.

Anyone that knew him at FSU knew that he was a longshot to get and hold a starting spot in the NFL from the get-go.

    Likewise, at least I'd say.

So why did the vast majority of posters here ignore it for so long since it went up the morning of draft day?

    3000 snaps? 3 seasons?

Most of these guys you can tell in a season or less if they're gonna amount to anything or be complete trash.

We drafted Akili Smith 2.0 and that was vastly apparent a year ago.

He said snaps, not passes. That is roughly 3 seasons. So, to answer your question, Ryan Fitzpatrick.

    I stand corrected.

Either way, in any other draft Manuel would have been considered a backup caliber QB prospect.

In some cases I think you can tell from their collegiate play. Manuel and Edwards, which is where Manuel should have been drafted, where Edwards was taken.

Last was Fitzpatrick, he broke 3,000 snaps (offensive plays) in his 4th year. He was at like 2857 minus some change after his 3rd.

I think we can all see why Herm Edwards has no job since 2008.

If our fate is sealed, EJ should play. We're still alive though... Orton is the QB.
