    Do we need another back?

Do you think we will or should show interest in Ray Rice now that he is a FA?

Re: Do we need another back?

you'd be foolish not to show interest in ray rice with cj spiller hurt for the year and fred jackson showing his age. Our running game is atrocious, and if we want to make a serious push for the post season we should take a serious look at signing him. if he's healthy and ready to play ball, i'd say bring him in.

*i will not say what i think about him as a human being, nor what he did to his soon to be wife.
My wife told me that if I had a dollar for every girl who found me unattractive, girls would find me VERY attractive.

    MY WIFE SAID THAT!!!

Ray Rice is garbage off the field and was garbage on the field last year.

Our RB situation is good, no need to bring in that kind of distraction.

Re: Do we need another back?

Ray Rice sucked in 2013. No. Why would anyone want that mess? I'd much rather have Chris Johnson. And I don't want him either.

If they can't utilize/keep Spiller then they are much better off drafting a RB in the middle rounds. Younger, faster and with less baggage.

Wouldn't be surprising. Though, after Hernandez, they don't need that kind of distraction either.

I bet they'll take a 2nd rounder for Adrian Peterson.

Let's hope the Patriots don't pick up the phone and make the deal.

personally i dont think rr is a thug and would likely never get in trouble again. i suspect he does have a problem with relationships but thats his bidness, life will beat that out of him eventually

i think he will be a good addition to whoever gets him. hope its here but i doubt it

We have no 3-down RB for the future. We need something. It would be stupid to count on Jackson as this point.

It's a protection mechanism.

You shroud your childish approach in a vale of pompous, intellectual garbage in an attempt to look smart and "real". You over-analyze even minute points and manipulate statistics to fit your negative view of the team. Again, to feel good about yourself and to protect from getting hurt.

Of course, the criticisms are obviously from someone who has no understanding of the team concept or what it takes to excel at athletics.

The true "realist" understands that they have no control of what happens on the field or behind the closed doors at One Bills' Drive, so they do the prudent thing for a spectator. They enjoy the games on Sunday with family and friends, cheer for their team and realize that it's just entertainment.

"I was an integral part in the drafting process of EJ Manuel," Whaley said Thursday on NFL Network's Total Access. "I was the person that handled the draft process and setting up the board."

"We are committed. I want you to believe me when I say that," Whaley said of building around the second-year quarterback, per The Buffalo News. "I always tell you guys that I'll never say never because I don't want to paint myself in a corner, but when I do say something, I do it and I mean it and I try to fulfill it."

"We believe the addition of Sammy is going to be instant impact, not only to our quarterback, but to what our offensive coordinator can come up with game-plan wise and how defenses attack us," Whaley said.

Whaley on EJ Manuel: "We think we got a gem in this guy." (2:30)

"And as Mark says, if in three years maybe he's not [our quarterback of the future], then I'll be sitting there saying 'hey guys', .... anybody got a job for me?" - Doug Whaley

Yeah, the questionability (at best) of the distraction of having him I too think would not be outweighed by his performance. He might be fading already. He was terrible last season and in 2012 he was OK but not fantastic or anything.

I just wouldn't sign him because of the distraction, that's the last thing we need.

I'd rather have Peterson than Rice based on what they did.

    Agree.

And let's be honest, running backs are not hard to come by nowadays, don't even draft one. Sort them out in camp.

I don't care as much about the distraction aspect, his on field performance was outright terrible last year.

Like if we went out somehow and got Adrian Peterson that would be fine since he's still a beast on the field and there will be some distraction with him as well.

"Problem with relationships?" Could that possibly be a bit of an understatement?

Yeah, agree. Also, it seems as if Peterson's issues were largely out of ignorance, so it's at least somewhat forgivable, Rice has no excuse.

    Again. Rice stunk in 2013.

I hate pointing to Fantasy Sports, but I had him on my team so I suffered with his high degree of suckitude.
