The least talented QB in the history of the national football league I would argue was Joe Kapp. Perhaps the most talented was Jeff George. Kapp was a winner. George was a loser. It's not all about talent.
The bears are losing as a team and a defense first and foremost. Cutler has decent numbers. His WR have been hurt and his OC is a fool who talks to the media and blames his qb. It's a joke.

Bears are probably going to have to cut him unless a really desperate team goes after him like Tennesee.

At this point in his career, Cutler is a less coachable, more stubborn Kyle Orton with a better arm and worse leadership skills. He's gained a pile of his stats on final drives against prevent D's in losing games.

Early Denver Cutler was the only Cutler to have really. Since the Shanahans he's burned through HC's & OC's and regressed in steps to the point where if anyone's been watching the last few Bears games he's been looking like Orton gone wild.

Chicago has some receivers of their own and a Matt Forte which Cutler is not succeeding with, talented players he is used to and has experience under fire with. Marrone/Hackett/Downing, a fresh bunch of receivers he doesn't know, and a new offense will not be the pieces that restore Denver Cutler and do any good for Bills locker room chemistry.

He's just not Denver Cutler any more. Looking ahead, can anyone see him leading say, Houston, Cleveland or the Jets to glory ? Objectively, nah.

Pass on him unless you want a less coachable more stubborn Kyle Orton with a better arm and worse leadership skills.

Cutler's best chance to win is here and there's no doubt about that. I could see him doing well for us but if he's banished to Tennesee or the Jets he's going to check out and be awful.

You don't get it. Cutler got benched because the team hates his guts. Trust me if you polled the players on who they'd rather have under center jay or Kyle Orton it would be like 44-1 with jay voting for himself. You're right it is a joke.

              Mace, I have to disagree.

First of all, there is no debate Cutler is talented, easily the most talented among the likes of RGIII, Bradford, Hoyer and whoever projected to be available thsi offseason. Orton isn't even on that list with the limitation he has.

It is then up to the football coach to put him in position to deliver. He was successful in Devner because he had Shanahan. I still remember his first game which is a Bills openner (for what you say about Levy, his instinct about drafting Cutler, having to be talked into trading up for McCargo were all correct; too bad he was not a GM by trade who would stand his ground on those decisions). After that he had no one who used him properly; everyone expected him to carry the team.

I feel Marrone has a strong personaility that would well for talented guy like Cutler. You limit his throws to 30 times a game on average and you might be onto something. I do admit though that Cutler got paid to do far more than he could deliver.

I don't think his team hates him.

They voted him as the Bears rep for the Walter Payton award. And I read many Bears players were upset Cutler was benched.

No. The Bears had to make the move. Cutler was going through the motions and there was a Mutiny on the Bounty in the locker room.

Not great, but a better resume than Hackett and mentioned on these boards as a replacement at OC.
