How much of the Falcons did you watch this year?

They allowed more QB hits this year (89) than we did (85). They allowed 8 less sacks, and had a 0.3 YPC better average than we did on 30 less carries.

They were hit kind of hard by injuries (especially at center), yet still improved as the season progressed. Neither can be said about Buffalo's current oline.

The Falcons signed college free agent James Stone in April, and he's made the most of his opportunity ever since at the center position.

Throughout the week of preparation for the Green Bay Packers, Falcons head coach Mike Smith and offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter each praised the improved work by the team's offensive line. The position group has seen more than its fair share of changes this season due to five injuries within the group and two specifically at the center position. Joe Hawley's season ended after a Week 4 knee injury. Less than one month later, backup center Peter Konz was done for the year after suffering a knee injury in Week 7.
Since then, undrafted rookie center James stone has stepped in to lead the group in remarkable fashion.

              Bring him in.

Hated him when he coached the Vikings. He's done nothing to change that since. WHY would anyone want that heaping pile of garbage? Did you see all that offensive Falcon talent just play terribly? Yeah. Has Tice's fingerprints all over it.

While he has gotten praise for assembling a rag-tag team of mostly back-ups this season, he's not been all that. He's a buffoon. There are lot's of good o-line coaches out there. Bring in another one. Moreover, we all (myself included) do focus attention at the current Bills o-line coach. But it may, in fact, be a scheme issue more than anything. And no one will deny there are some personnel issues as well.

Stock watch: The offensive line, which had made dramatic strides under offensive line coach Mike Tice, took a significant step back against the Panthers. The front five allowed quarterbackMatt Ryan to be harassed all day. In turn, Ryan never got into a rhythm and forced throws. Ryan joined rookie Blake Bortles of Jacksonville and Geno Smith of the New York Jets as the only quarterbacks to throw multiple interceptions returned for touchdowns in a game this season. Yes, Ryan's stock plummeted too, but the offensive line surely didn't help his cause.
A few thoughts on the Atlanta Falcons' season-ending 34-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Atlanta has one of the worse OLs in the league. Tice is on his way out of this league in my opinion and is not an upgrade over what the Bills currently have.

I absolutely agree that scheme is an issue, and to a certain extent personnel also, but I've been scouring the league for offensive line coaches that might be available to bring in and haven't had much success finding anybody with a resume. I'm not married to Tice, so if anybody has any better options that they are aware of I'm all ears.

Yea but they also had Sam Baker regress and brought in the top FA guard last year (Jon Asamoah) who also arguably regressed.

I'm not against Tice but he doesn't come without his warts.

He and Marrone remind of each other. Marrone is the bully, boorish o-line coach who now gets his HC gig. In a few years he will be right where Tice is now.
