    update ... still jogging .. 3 miles and I am averaging 9:21 per mile and I have added in a spin class twice a week...

    Fractured my arm a few months ago, about to start lifting weights to tone muscles and to improve bone density

    Did 3.3 miles on the treadmill yesterday. My Thanksgiving 5 k. First 5 k since July. Torn meniscus. Then repair in September. Glad to be back to almost normal. Had to run off those turkey day calories!

    Chickie would kick my rear out on the road though. I'm still a little slow at over 11 minutes a mile.

    You can't see the boardwalk really well in this photo but you run under 4 different bridges along the river.

    I lived there when this was built. Partied there many times. Nice spot. City still smell like paper mills & coffee?

    I remember those 11 min mile days

    since turning 40 I just want to get in a good rhythm/habit of cardio. Since I had open heart surgery at age of 4 1/2 I am prone to heart disease .. cardio apparently helps to reduce risks so ... 30-45 mins 4-5 days a week is what I aim for ...

    I will be glad when my new health ins kicks in next year and I get to see my cardiologist doctor again!

    Tractor lawn mower gave out, used a push mower for the summer, lost 10lbs, now since we are heading to winter I am putting it back on. Cant wait to start shoveling snow and lose it again.

    Broke 17 last week. I do it every week. When my knee was 100% I was doing over 21 miles/week.

    That is great ... But isn't that really bad for the knees??

    I have not worked out since Tuesday, just so busy with kids and Christmas ...

    Next week I am back on it.. And I am still down 6lbs from when I started!!

    Put it back on and now back to shoveling. I have done about 5 hrs and need a couple more to finish the job. But even felt better with just that much shoveling.

    LOL. Made sure the snowblower would fire today. We had about 1/2" snow on 12/29 in the warmest Nov & Dec on record here. Usually tune it up in November.

    Ended the year down 10 pounds. Decent, but a bit disappointing as I was down 18 in August. No question I'm in better shape - "ran" 3 official 5ks in 2015 (had never done one before), and was able to yesterday take an 8 mile hike without being too tired afterward. The goal for this year is 18.5 - down to an even 200.
