Richard Sherman says MRI revealed sprained elbow

For Richard Sherman, not playing in the Super Bowl isn't an option.

The Seattle cornerback said via ESPN that a Monday MRI showed that his elbow is only sprained, and that he fully expects to participate in Super Bowl XLIX.

Sherman's left arm was injured while he was trying to tackle Green Bay's James Starks in the NFC championship. He returned to the game but limited the use of his arm.

"I could still position myself to be in coverage," Sherman said of his injury after the game. "It happened on the play I chased James Starks to the sidelines. One of my teammates went through us."

As the Seahawks travel to Arizona to face the Patriots, they'll hope two big pieces of their defense will be able to recover. Safety Earl Thomas suffered a dislocated shoulder in the team's win.

Good, now we need him to go TKO Tom Brady. If he is not, hopefully they can pick up Bernie Pollard.
