Fred will leave on his terms and can still contribute. 3rd and short or 1st and goal, he's money with some actual blocking in front of him.

You don't cut your heart and soul.

If he doesn't retire a Buffalo Bill, it will be a huge black eye on the organization, IMO.

Re: It's Time To Say Goodbye To Fred Jackson

Who does the Bills have to replace his blitz pick up and pass blocking abilities? His hands coming out of the backfield?
He was fielding punts or kicks last year for cirssakes. That should prove how valuable the Bills think Jackson is.

We havent replaced him with anyone so as of this posting he's our best TE. Besides, I'd rather keep him as a no2 TE if we found a no.1.

thank God you aren't making any decisions.
The heart and soul of our 32nd ranked offense. I'm sorry, love Fred the day he showed up here, but the thread is correct.

    Time for a change.

Come up with a better one and perhaps they will. But anyone named Brown, Dixon or Spiller is not part of the answer.

Fyi... I think we should draft a RB in the 2nd and sign a vet free agent like Gore.

fjax becomes a 3rd down specialist

3rd and 3, Oline misses their blocks and Fjax immediately bounces outside since he has no hole, he makes the first guy miss, breaks a tackle cuts back inside and is wrapped up a yard short but manages to fall forward for a first down.

That's Fred twice a game every week this year.

Was Thurman Thomas cut or released by the Bills? All I remember was him wearing teal and that wasn't right.

I know it sucks, this post sucks, and the whole thing reminds me of Old Yeller, but I had to do it.

    Sorry ;-(

Fred's production last year wasn't there when Spiller went down.

The Bills finished 25th in rushing, and the most yards they gained on the ground in a game was 77.

I'm not a cap guru, but $2.6 million is a lot of money to pay a running back when you consider trying to sign Jerry Hughes to a huge contract, and hopefully extending Dareus too.

Hate to say it, but it is what it is. Getting older is hard to accept.

Highly unpopular, yes, but I think Jackson should retire this off-season and maybe become a coaching assistant to the team.

    That's better than wearing teal.

Wood (not Woods), Glenn, and Chandler are not going to be 34 years old on February 20th. That's not a fair comparison, both ways.

The point is, you said he regressed. The entire offense regressed therefore we should get rid of everyone that regressed. That's just stupid becausea lot of players regressed under Marrones offense.

Bills finished 26th overall in offense, it's in the same toilet bowl.

It wasn't because of FJ for sure. Fj kept it from being 32
There's only so much he can do with crappy coaching which made the OL regress. Get a clue

Jackson's productivity did not fall because of Marrone.

Fred Jackson had 9 rushing TD's in Marrone's first year in 2013, 4.3 yards per carry and 890 yards on the season.

Compare those numbers with his productivity in 2014.

Fred Jackson did not regress because of Doug Marrone's offense.

He regressed because of Father Time.
