Sick feeling in my stomach (QB)

I just realized Blaine Gabbert was with San fran last year and is after agent do you think he is a guy we bring in to compete since he knows offense.

I did not watch any 49ners pre season games any idea how he looked.

Bills need a miracle, not Blaine Gabbert.

The Bills have officially hit the bottom of the quarterback barrel.

It's like a bad soap opera that never ends.

During the regular season Gabbert looked as good as any other guy holding a clipboard & watching the game from the sidelines. Reports are he really has the phrase "Go get 'em" down pat.

If I were Ryan I'd be sick to my stomach. It's like trying to drive a car with no steering wheel. Tough way to start.

Can't feel too bad for him, he just narrowly avoided welding his brake to the floor to go along with the lack of a steering wheel.

Relax... It will be Sanchez or Bradford... And EJ does have something to offer.

No QB is worthy of a roster spot with us.

They all suck and we'll celebrate each signing with another team.

Then it will kick in that Manuel is our QB again... and the bridge will suddenly be crowded.

I'm not really so sure why he's not the least worst among QB's like McCown to be honest.

Am I the only one that does not care if we suck next year. Much better qb options available and not just first pick. Granted I want playoffs but I will not cry with a top 10 pick either.

Yes best case is ej develops into top 16 qb and we make playoffs and don't have to worry about qb.

Worst case is we crash and burn waste a year of good defense but could get the first above average qb since Bledsoe.

I guess I'm not really sure about why Manuel cannot be as good as present McCown in a ball control offense, and I'm not real sure we'll get a good shot at a quality QB next year if they let Whaley blow picks on an aging vet at some spot this year, and I can feel it coming.

Pegulas figure this is like the NHL so you're looking at them planning for 2018.

I care because we have a very small window to ride one of the league's best defenses. As Kyle and Mario are going to be hitting the other side of 30 soon. Not to mention Gilmore's rookie contract is coming to an end. Toss in other guys like Freddie Jackson is likely going to be in his last year next year and Glenn's set to be an UFA after next season. I was hoping last preseason that EJ would develop into a middle of the road QB and he didn't. Yet it doesn't mean he can't this season as time will tell but if so we're going to need to add a better TE and another starting caliber O-lineman or two.

EJ's growth last season was stunted by Marone's concern for his future... Only to have him opt out.

I'm all on the Jake locker truck. I think he and ej would do best in the same o, and roman is the king of that o. If ej beats him out all the better.

Gabbert's on my short list of QBs I think are realistic options for this team. While I agree he hasn't shown much let's not forget he is a former bust of the Jaguars who might be one of the worst franchises in the NFL. That said if had a choice I'd rank guys like Nick Foles, Colt McCoy and Christian Ponder as guys that I'd favor over Gabbert.

Re: Sick feeling in my stomach (QB)

EJ is worse than useless. He's ammunition for Whaley to try to prove that he wasn't as disastrously, heinously as wrong as he was in not only reaching for Manuel in the first place, but in doubling down and not choosing a QB last year, and totally blowing up this years draft (and season) by "trying to get EJ help".

Total malpractice at the GM position that gets worse by the day.

Keeping Whaley has lessened my opinion of Pegula, and that's saying something.
