I would bring him back
Stevie Johnson gets the Krusty Brand Seal of Approval: "He's not just good, he's good enough!"
Only Bills fans who have accepted mediocrity defend Stevie. He was never a true #1, he was never clutch, and his antics hurt the team (remember when we were winning against NE before he got benched for drawing a celebration penalty, and then we ended up losing?).
Nobody's perfect but it is possible to get talent without the plethora of flaws Stevie has. He uses the excuse that he's "just having fun out there", but it's a GAME. He makes millions to do something that the rest of us do for recreation. That's plenty fun on its own.

The thinking is... would SJ be a good #3 slot receiver at a reasonable price ?
Yes
Will the Bills consider him ? Maybe. They brought Mike Williams in and Stevie was never stabbed by his brother.
SJ was just a flake but was exceptional running the quick slant.

The only reason I would consider bringing him back is because he wouldn't be a #1, so the pressure would be off and he'd get less attention from opposing D's.
But he strikes me as the type who will whine about touches.....
WILL NOT REMOVE THIS UNTIL SHADY IS SUPERBOWL MVP!!!

I'd love to have Stevie back. He learned a lot about being a #1 guy from Terrell Owens, and he's at the point in his career where he could share that experience and knowledge with Sammy. His on-field antics rub some people the wrong way, but off the field he was nothing but a consummate professional, teammate, and ambassador for our brand.

That ship has sailed. If he comes back, he's nothing more than a slot receiver. But as long as he sees Manuel as a possible #1 QB he'll go elsewhere.
I dunno, 'consummate professional' isn't really a term I would label SJ with, and in all honesty one of my bigger concerns with bringing him back would be a possible negative effect he could have on the younger receivers. I don't want him back in a leadership role, he's going to have to follow the lead of Watkins and Wood, not vice versa. I know I've already said SJ would be a better slot receiver than Hogan, but if he hasn't outgrown the clown stage than I'd rather keep Hogan.

Meh, if he's willing to take a lot less money then maybe but exactly what are we adding with him that we don't have in Woods?
COMING SOON...

Did he complain about lack of receptions in San Fran last season? Not that I recall, ironically he has two ties to the Bills now that Roman is here. I'd welcome him back as I think he's an above average WR and think he brings more to the table than Hogan would. As look back at EJ's highlights from 2013 and most of them could be linked to SJ13 and Robert Woods. Toss in we have Sammy Watkins in the mix so our WRs are better than they were. Now if we could also add starting caliber TE things could be interesting.

Stevie Johnson was born in San Francisco. He turns 29 years old in July.
Chris Hogan is nicknamed, "711," by his teammates because he's always open.
He turns 27 in October, had BETTER production than SJ did in 2014, with a much lower price.

Hogan was the better player.
Time to move on.
How can you say Hogan was better? Let's look closer at the numbers, Stevie had 51 targets compared to Hogan's 60. If you extrapolate things being equal in terms of targets Stevie would have had 42 receptions for 531 yards and 3.66 TDs and 29 FD. The only stat that Hogan was better in was TDs where he had 4. Sure Stevie's two years older but he is far more accomplished in his career thus far and gosh forbid anything happen to Woods or Watkins I'd much rather have Stevie out there versus Hogan. Again would Stevie replace Hogan? Maybe on the field but imagine Hogan is still on this roster and might end up replacing Deonte Thompson when it comes to the final 53. This is what it comes down to is to have the best 53 at the end of the day. The only thing Thompson brings to the table that Stevie/Hogan wouldn't would be time speed.
