There were Sabre fans here that thought he would be jammed up some other team's ass for a 2015 1st round pick.
Those same fans think McDavid is ours, the league won't allow it & will try to save AZ.

This morning on Howard Simon Show Murray said before trade deadline opened today that he would like to get draft choices for other years of the draft. Keep in mind the Sabres will host the 2016 draft

bingo. its a second rounder. i dont care when it is. if anything else, itll allow them to add prospect depth in the future when the sabres roster is better and their own picks have less value. or they could move that pick for assets. GMTM got his pick. and im happy with it.
The NHL brass will want McDavid in Arizona. So the hawks are kind of quiet, we will need someone for kane ,till he returns in the Stanley cup finals.

Eichel's good but McDavid is another level IMHO.
on the flip side, it could look really bad if they land mcdavid and the new owners opt out after 5 years and move.
The Sabres are also retaining 50% of Stewart's salary.
Basically Stewart was worthless.
With St. Louis doing well this year, it looks like the Ryan Miller trade was a complete flop.
