Toronto is reported looking to get Wings D Brendan Smith, per Ken Campbell of The Hockey News. TSN's Darren Dreger says the TOR-DET talks are ONLY preliminary...and he Leafs are asking for a lot. That might scare off Detroit...but not other teams.
As for the Michalek trade, it's unknown what Arizona is getting in return.
That 5th round pick we're getting from Montreal? It's in 2016.

Darren Dreger is reporting that Michal Neuvirth is heading to the Islanders for Chad Johnson and a conditional pick(it'll be a 2016 3rd rounder). Chad's signed through next season-cap hit: $1.3 M.
