If McCoy was so willing to restructure, why didn't he just restructure with Philly?

I actually saw one report that said he wanted an extension and may hold out- I think it was in the original McCoy thread here. Just because it's possible to restructure doesn't make the player willing to do it.

    Same goes for Mario.

Philly wanted him to take a pay cut. Not the same thing

A restructure is simply taking salary and making it signing bonus.

Of course he might not do it.

But its also not definite that he won't or that's it's impossible.

The Watkins trade shed doubt on Whaley' judgment for me, but this is just another whole level of dumb.

Now we only have ~$20 million to fix the OL, re-sign Hughes and Spikes and sign rookies.

I'm at a loss for words.
(Sincere apologies for an old thread getting bumped but this has been on my mind ALOT lately..)

-- I've had "TwoBillsDrive" my home page since late 90's and after reading all the Lesean McCoy party invitation headline I started to think about the trade and the more I did the more PO'ed I got..
-I instantly thought of The Awful trade Washington did by trading they're best player for a Stud RB. champ Baily for Clinton Portis. And I have big history with The U being so close to the team for 25 + years. Bah, Whatevs!

-champ Bailey was either the best Cb or top 5 at the time. I do recall Champ had lost a step but he still played awesome for Denver. Now this trade is mild compared to ours because Champ Bailey mighta been 30 cause I recall him being "OLD" during his Denver years....But Kiko is 25. And a absolute stud MLB.
But that's not the worst part. FOR A RB!!

-some facts or opinionated facts LoL
-Spiller was-NOT gonna be our Darren Sproles.
-ChRles Davis predicted we would draft Spiller & I cringed because it was alllll Chris Johnson speed hype & I knew RB in the top 10 was ancient.
--spilelrs super speed doesn't always mean .....
-Spiller was the most fun RB in Madden since Travis Henry or even Thurman.

Seriously though aren't RB's that aren't super special not as valuable anymore compared to a all pro LB. yeah the blown out knee sucked but it's not a deal breaker for me,(pun-0)

-I suspect in 4 years time will be unsure about McCoys abilities.
I suspect in 4 years time Kiko will be on that Clay Mathews level.

Fingers crossed & I hope me & the dude I quoted look stupid for hatin on McCoy as he turned out to be a game changer for us...

I think this was a good trade even if Kiko is a stud in 4 years. We didn't have a true #1 running back so this was a need, not a want.

In addition Kiko's size was a definate concern, especially late in the season when he started getting overpowered. Not sure he isn't Coy Wire in a few years.

Kiko was expendable in Rex's scheme and coming off a major injury. He dangled an Oregon duck in front of Chip and he bit. I don't like the trade either because I don't like investing in RB like this. They are a dime a dozen. Plus I don't like Mccoy. He's annoying and a tool. Hard to like him.

I'm going to wait to see how each guy plays this year before I judge it. But certainly that was a lot to put into a RB. But he was one of the top 3 in the league.

Elite running backs are not a dime a dozen. How many AP, Charles, Lynch, Foster, McCoy are there in the NFL?

How many SB wins among those elite RBs? One. And that was from the guy that our "masterminds" traded away for Chris Hairston and Tank Carter.

Kiko had a great rookie year, but his injury last year was his 2nd torn ACL.

Kiko may go on to have a great career or he may be an injury prone LB that makes little impact over time.

In either case, the Bills were fine on defense last year without Kiko & they really have no need for Kiko on the Rex Ryan Bills.

A lot actually, and they change quickly. You didn't even mention DeMarco Murray (won last year's rushing title), LeVeon Bell (All Pro selection, losing him virtually cratered the Pitt offense), Justin Forsett (highest Y/C last year) or any of the "just" really good halfbacks either, Jeremy Hill, Eddie Lacy, Alfred Morris, etc.

Good halfbacks are not rare in the least, I have no idea why people think they are.
