Thurman, Bruce and even OJ > Kelly. I could even argue some of the old timers like Joe D and Tom Sestak might be better. Of course I've said many times the first word in franchise QB is franchise.

Re: March Madness: #3 Thurman Thomas vs #14 Kent Hull

I spent a lot of time with Kent Hull. He was a cross between the toughest guy you ever met and the most self-effacing guy you ever met.

So since you ("The King") have decided to run these obscene polls pitting teammate against teammate for whatever reason your twisted soul sees fit, and since this particular poll actually pits the living against the dead, allow me ("Shane Brother Shane") to speak as proxy for Kent Hull, since he can no longer speak for himself:

    1. I was honored to be on the same field with Thurman Thomas, whose football equal I am definitely not.
So my vote in this two-teammate travesty of a poll is Thurman #1 (first), and me #2 (last).

    2. At the same time, I proclaim "The King" (perpetrator of these lame polls) to be the undisputed #1 dipstick in the history of Buffalo Bills message boards.

    Your forever friend,

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?"
"Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet.
You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
    It was all
true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can
mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

I loved Sam Adams. Still remember his TD vs the Pats.
But he was past his prime and we only got few years from him. So Mario

    I met both of them.

    At least Pete could count.

Re: March Madness: #4 Joe DeLamielleure vs #13 Billy Shaw

    Toughest choice yet. Two HOFers.

I went with Shaw because Joe D left for Cleveland.

    That was my deciding factor.

Ha, I have a soft spot for big Sam Adams..don't judge.

I fully expect Coastal to join me if he is able to vote in time.

I worked pt in a stereo store back in the glory days. (helped pay for our seats)

I sold him a tuner, it was about 179 bucks.

His girlfriend had to show him which denominations of money he had to give me to pay for it.

I gotta be honest, I was floored.

I had seen quite a bit when I worked in Philly, like people who could not fill out a job application and the like.

    But a college grad....from a good school?

    Just wow.

Incidentally....a lot of the Bills used to shop at this store for their electronic goodies.

I sold a camcorder to Coach Elijah Pitts and his wife.

I was drooling over his Super Bowl I ring.

He took it off and let me try it on. Too bad this was in the day before cellphone selfies.

When Jim Kelly came in, they opened up the store early just for him and his family.

Yikes. I'm more surprised he was able to make it through High School without those basic math skills. I'm never surprised that these guys learn nothing in College. I'm sure they had people doing their homework and taking their tests, especially back in the day when Nate was in College.

He also would wear a black trench coat out to No Names (946 Elmwood ) where I tended bar during the summer when it was 90 degrees. Would just stare at everyone like a stalker. We'd all think " WTF is with that guy ? "
