You'll have to put it in the contest thread, X...if that's your final version, that is.

    Re: Mock Draft Contests---Discussion thread

I tried to come up with a serious one of my own after playing with the idea of trying to be funny with submitting an all QB draft, but honestly can't begin to have a clue this year. I usually manage to come up with who I hope for in the first three rounds but this year is like a void.

Farthest I got was Tomlinson in 2, and Marpet in 3 but I can't realistically think they'll take two OL that early, which took me to Grayson in 2, Marpet in 3 and then I went blank because I'm hoping for Tomlinson in 2 to begin with.

I think I'm just settling back into no expectations, no remorse and no clue.

    5-Cody Fajardo, QB, Nevada
    6a-Anthony Boone, QB, Duke

Also offers the ability as an explosive returner on special teams. Varying opinions but most see him in the early second round, most in the top 50 - before the Bengals draft.

Chance Bengals draft him: 10 percent. Could be one of those players who slips down the second round and the Bengals pull the trigger because other prospects are already gone. Mainly wonder if his projected pick falls outside of the Bengals' pick area. "

    Re: Mock Draft Contests---Discussion thread

We're going to do our best to fix some things that need fixing...

    Used Fanspeak's Mock Draft simulator..

    http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/

50 R2P18 G ALI MARPET HOBART - Some people see this as a sentimental, feel good pick that isn't worth the round. Wrong. He's probably the best overall athlete of any interior lineman in the draft. Speed, first step, strength, lateral agility. Its already there. Held up very well at the Senior Bowl practices. Smart, will pick up things early. Give him a year and he's going to be a starter at guard for years to come.

81 R3P17 QB BRYCE PETTY BAYLOR

The annual foray into the QB prospects. I agree with Ingtar..if you're going to draft him, let him sit for a year or two and let him learn the system.

155 R5P19 OT MITCH MORSE MISSOURI

Projected as a guard after playing left and right tackle at Mizzou. I really wanted Mark Glowinski of West Virginia (an up and comer) but he was taken 3 spots ahead of my pick. In terms of measurables, Morse is up there in both the strength and agility categories. (36 bench reps, around 4.5 in the shuttle) He's NOT limited athlete, but he needs work.

188 R6P12 ILB BRYCE HAGER BAYLOR

Short at 6'1", but he runs a 4.5 40 and was Baylor's leading tackler. 2 time all Big 12. At worst, a special teamer contributor.

194 R6P18 OT JAMON BROWN LOUISVILLE

Surprisingly quick for a guy that weighs 323. RT and LT at Louisville. Ran a 5 flat 40 and a sub 1.8 10 yard split. At the East West Shrine Game, they put him next to his teammate John Miller for a while, and they had a lot of fun opening holes on the right side. They were knocking people around on every play.

234 R7P17 OLB ALANI FUA BYU

Undersized, but room to add strength/bulk, at 6'4". Ran a 4.5 40. A good strength and conditioning program might do him good.

I think you've got the second round pick correct. If he's still on the board Grayson will be a William.

    Re: Mock Draft Contests---Discussion thread

Marpet was available at 81 when I used the simulator and fanspeak's big board. I ended up with...DT Carl Davis, OG Ali Marpet, OT Tyrus Thompson, CB Quandre Diggs, DE Jeremia Rauscia and QB Sean Mannion, in that order.

I love that simulator, BTW, thanks for posting it gil. If you want that to be an official entry in the contest you'll have to post it in that thread, though.

    Re: Mock Draft Contests---Discussion thread

I had a ball with the simulator, using big board composite. And probably will have fun with it a few more times. It's not an entry for anything, but I came up with :

50: R2P18 CB QUINTEN ROLLINS MIAMI (OHIO) I'd use him at safety.

81: R3P17 G A.J. CANN SOUTH CAROLINA : No great traits, solid ones across the board, it was he or Marpet for me.

155: R5P19 ILB JAKE RYAN MICHIGAN : Overachiever, said to live and breathe football, I see him as a Rex Ryan guy in a Brown/Bradham/Ryan rotation at in the middle.

188: R6P12 TE RORY ANDERSON SOUTH CAROLINA : Nicknamed Busta, athletic undersized atm, mismatch guy with too many triceps injuries, but it's the 6th round.

194: R6P18 QB CONNOR HALLIDAY WASHINGTON ST. : Built like a matchstick, but powerful arm, loves to use it, cocky, has no clue what he can't do yet.

234: R7P17 DT DAVID PARRY STANFORD : With some more weight, Yardrat will be content that they have a part time powerful beast of someone to use as a two gap NT and stop complaining about it.

Thanks for the simulator, it gave me an idea of who is out there. Lots of fun.

I honestly can't agree that a seventh round pick will stop me from complaining about it, unless he develops into a flat-out beast his rookie season.

I know, the comment was just something funny to throw in there. Honestly though, I was surprised Parry was still available (projected 4 or 5), he has Kyle Williams traits (motor, mean and fierce) but strong with probably about 20 lbs of NFL weight ahead of him.

The simulator gave me a much better concept of who/where/why.

I used the big board composite and got...

50-CB Jalen Collins-not a fan of a dback in the 2nd, but if he drops this far can't pass him up.
81-G Aj Cann-he's there, every time. Watch him go at 48 or 49 in the real thing.

Real good chance one or both of those picks comes true.
