I know the NHL wants to expand to even up the conferences but I think expansion is a good idea. Move the teams that nobody cares about like Fla, Carolina and Pheonix before adding more.
And if they do expand, Seattle is the obvious choice.
ive always proposed when an expansion team is announced, they immediately get draft picks leading up to their inaugural season. usually they announce 2 or 3 years in advance, let the expansion team draft last in each round up till the draft leading to their first season. so they have a base of talent.Originally Posted by OpIv37
another reason for the NHL to dick Buffalo over, Sabres hold the 2016 NHL Entry Draft @ FNC, and if the NHL has the entry draft in 2016 as well the new team can pick players off of the Sabres roster. Just when the rebuild to building mode is about to begin with this Sabres team.

I REALLY want the NHL to rush into Vegas and fall flat on its face.
For God's sake, this is an embarrassment just waiting to happen. They lost their ECHL team recently because they couldn't find an arena(they were kicked out of the Orleans Arena, and apparently neither the Thomas and Mack Center nor the MGM Grand Garden Arena were available), the population of LV is transient at best and attendance is really going to be a problem, seeing as how the casinos are the city's #1 employer.

You can protect a lot of your good players. Someone with a real good goalie prospect as a back up is getting stolen though.
They won't get good sabres players. Worst case, they lose someone like varone. Oh no!
An AP source says Vegas will be officially announced next week. I don't think this comes as a surprise to anyone, but it appears this is a done deal

For a while there, rumors were swirling that the canes might move to vegas, putting expansion on hold. Seems the canes might be safe for the time being, but maybe they head north soon

Unlikely; if memory serves, Seattle took itself out of the running some time ago.
Florida just went through an image reboot(new logo and jerseys), so THAT's not happening either.
Expansion sucks. The league is watered down as it is.
I say move Carolina to Quebec. Balance out the conferences by moving Florida to either Vegas or Seattle. Phoenix can move to whichever one doesn't get Florida. 15 teams in each conference, order is restored to the universe.
New logo doesn't mean much. Quebec had a new logo coming in, but they moved so it never was actually official.
The new logo reminded me of the Minnesota timber wolves logo.
