How he still has a job is mind blowing. Enough is @#% enough. He shouldn't even be allowed on the same plane back.

3 missed PATs this season... Awful

He's reverted to late Miami era Carpenter.

I dont know what you do about him at this point. He won't be our kicker next year
Are you people nuts?

What is with all this Carpenter hate? He missed one ****ing extra point in a windy pouring rain game. Even the best kickers have been missing a few all year.

Are you guys defending him confident he's going to hit a 45 yd fg at the end of a game? Not to mention we waste a roster spot cause he can't kick touchbacks. The position needs upgrading next year.

A lot of kickers kick touchbacks and can't hit long field goals. Santos from the Chiefs kicks touchbacks, couldn't kick a 54 yarder. I mean really, would you rather have touchbacks and iffy percentage on field goals ? For that matter how do you know what his touchback percentage would be ? We're one of the only teams that has a touchback specialist, if not the only one, I don't remember but think so. Is that rolling up the wins ?
That's the point. We dont get touchbacks and still get the iffy % on fg. I can only assume they carry a specialist because they know his TB % would suck.
You've got to admit he's not the kicker he was the last couple years. Maybe he's not 100% ? I'm not saying cut him. Just bring in some serious competition in camp next year.

We have a better FG percentage than Pittsburgh and KC, and have a worse touchback percentage than Tennessee, San Francisco & Miami with a specialist touchback guy. I'd be worried about the kicking if we were losing games because of kicking. We aren't. Longer PATs shook the league a little. Cleveland, San Francisco and Tennessee are ahead of us in PAT pct, Green Bay is behind.
Kicking is a sliver in your toe when you've been shot in the leg at this point.
Get mad at Carpenter when he costs us games that are riding on his leg.

Geez, you guys are so butthurt you're crying about a missed extra point, too?
What a bunch of pussies.
I think the Bills should give out tampons and tissues at every game so the so called fans won't flood the stadium with blood, sweat and tears.

That was a significant miss, but if Carpenter loses his job for missing three xp's in a season Ryan should lose his also for blowing four ****ing challenges IN ONE GAME.

The missed extra point was huge. We had to go for 2 on our next score. We never recovered the lead or even tied from that point on. The whole complexion of the game changed because of that.
That's 3 missed on the year and he's also not been as good on fgs as he used to.
There's no immediate solution so he's not getting cut. But come next year he can't be the only guy in camp. He has to be on thin ice and some competition needs to be brought in.
8 kickers have missed 3 or more extra points this year. And he's missed 3 field goals this year, ranking him 20th in percentage in the NFL this year. No, he has not been a very good kicker like he was last year, but he hasn't been horrible either. And 3 of his field goals have been from 50 or more yards. Far more people to point the blame at than the kicker, though I don't feel he is blameless.

PAT Success Rate Dropped In Week 1
During the 16 Week 1 games, kickers had a 94.7 percent (71-for-75) success rate on PATs. Along with Nugent, the San Diego Chargers' Josh Lambo, Houston Texans' Randy Bullock and Jacksonville Jaguars' Jason Myers missed PATs, too.
According to ESPN Stats & Information, NFL kickers missed just eight extra points all of last season, and as a whole did not miss their fourth extra point until Week 8.

Point is, Bills are the *only* team in the league that carries a kickoff specialist. Right there you have an issue, and would only be warranted if this guy was the next coming of Vinatieri and never missed. But he does miss. So instead of burning a roster spot - DL anyone? - on a guy who has one job (doesn't even do that all the time), you get a kicker who can actually kick the ball on kickoffs, FGs and PATs. It's not rocket science. Carpenter is *not* worth two roster spots, which is what he's taking up right now. This one is on Whaley who can't find the door in a car.

Should have just went with Cundiff this year after picking him up and cut both Gay and Carpenter.
If he wasn't good enough, then you draft a kicker in like the 6th round, pick up a guy in FA and have them battle it out.
Carpenter is just another kicker in this league who's easily swappable with someone else.
Carpenter will most likely be one of the victims of this off-season's roster 'blow up'. Be careful what you wish for.
