I wonder how long it took him to find something negative about kromer. This guy is a douche.

It's not even negative really. It purports to show who the top-10 OL guys are. Kromer could have been 11 for all we know, assuming the list meant anything. But two of them (Morris and Kugler) were jokes and former Bills OL coaches to boot! And 5 out of them are no longer working as NFL OL coaches.

OOOOO...the Mouse McNally Experiment, part II.

2004, the Bills, not wanting to spend too much on the OL...go the "coach 'em up" route, and bring in Mouse McNally, possibly the best OL coach of his generation.

Of course, he warns them, "I'm not as miracle worker and I'm just going to do the best I can with them."

And of course, the Bills...being the Bills...gave him linemen from rounds 5-7..and an UDFA in Jason Peters.

            Dylan McFarland
            Mike Pucillo
            Justin Geisinger
            Aaron Merz
            Terrance Pennington

Guys like that. There were actually people saying..."hmmm...he can't be that good of a coach...he can't coach THESE guys up".

After a few years, he gave up and retired, then worked secretly for the Jets.

Cool that we're going back to that plan.

Every team with an offensive line better than buffalo's (which is nearly every team in the league), and every team with an offense better than Buffalo, (which is nearly every team in the league), said "so what" too.

            Ohhh....this is DEFINITELY Buffalo talk.

Uh...Eric, Cordy...yeah, um...we know you have tough jobs, but we're going to need you to help out at guard and tackle as well..

Yes..I know its a tough job, but we kind of overspent on a TE and RB...so we couldn't get you any help. So we're going to need you to pancake your guy and then jump over and help out our guards, OK?

But Chris Williams went down and so he started....started....the previously ever inactive rookie Richardson, against Houston, against the JJ Watt'ses.

He'd go on to keep going with Richardson stubbornly week after week as the under prepared kid was ravaged, making lip service about winning now.

Yeah, we have misfits, but the bumbling stubborn Marrone isn't here at least to mess them up. Run blocking is easier when developing, and so, we run, with no Marrone.

They addressed the OL by shucking Marrone and the useless Morris plenty.
Yeah, well...not like there is much of a choice...not like we haven't been rolling the dice for the past 15 years on the OL..

Get one or two good lineman, roll the dice on the other 3

But since we've been doing it for 15 years, another year, or 3, or 10 won't hurt.

Since they've been playing their 15 year craps game on the OL:

              average ranking in scoring...23
              average ranking in yardage..24

number of times they've been in the top 10 in either scoring or yardage....2
number of times they've been ranked 20 or below either in scoring or yardage....20

Hard to argue with that success.

Yes, and I would note that, of the three times they used a 1st rounder on OL in the last twenty years, one was received in a trade when we sent away a better OLineman we refused to pay.

Yeah, that was a great trade by the Eagles, look at all the Super Bowls they won because of him.

He's made the Pro Bowl every single year he's been able to suit up for them, and every time he did they posted Top 10 offenses. They've also made the playoffs three times and won their division twice.

But they didn't win multiple Super Bowls, so clearly they lost that trade

The Eagles paid Peters a lot of money to sit on the bench.

And the Coaching of Andy Reed & the other players on that team had more to do with the success of the Eagles than Peters has.

I don't think Peters was injured last year. Where did the Eagles finish?

Yeah...except that we're not. I have no idea how the Bills from 2004 equate to the Bills of 2015, seeing as how there is a new owner and regime. I also don't see how the personnel is the same since Wood was a 1st rounder and is an above average C, Glenn was a 2nd rounder and is an excellent LT, Incognito is a former 3rd rounder who has played well throughout his career and made the Pro Bowl in 2012, and Urbik who was an UDFA who has graded out well every year but last when he was moved to LG. If you're talking just about RT and Henderson being a 7th rounder, a supremely talented 7th rounder at that, well, then, you've hit a home run with your analogy. Brava!

But I will admit RT is still a concern. However with the addition of McCoy, Clay and Felton, it becomes less of one.

[quote]Every team with an offensive line better than buffalo's (which is nearly every team in the league), and every team with an offense better than Buffalo, (which is nearly every team in the league), said "so what" too.
Because they didn't want the baggage. But thankfully for the Bills, they all passed.

                            Ohhh....this is DEFINITELY Buffalo talk.

Another good one. First off, how are Eric or Cordy going to help out with the tackles? Eric is a player away from one on either side and Cordy is 3 players away from the other tackle. Second of all, a poor player not only affects that position, but the one next to it/around it. Hence the reason why the OL is called a "unit."

And there's problem 1a, or 1, or 1b if you like...and they still don't have one of those either.
Which is why they added Incognito, McCoy, Clay, and Felton to improve the running game.
