Were Murray's Comments Enough to Encourage Eichel to Stay in College for a While?

After all, he is only a freshman and may want to go back to win that championship that alluded him this year.

You have to think BU has a pretty good shot at it next year with Eichel returning.

Perhaps Eichel and his parents value his education more than going somewhere where the imbecile of a GM does not make you feel completely welcome.

The Bruins first round pick is much more likely to spend years away from the team, trying to learn how to play big league hockey. Jack doesn't need to do that, he's ready to go right now.

Eichel (Generational player) > TBD Bruins 14th pick prospect.

Ironically, the Bruins 1st round pick this past year David Pastnack stuck with team this year whereas the Sabres #2 overall pick went back to the minors.

That year away was more of a hiatus versus a reassignment, remember we had that tank deal going on ? I see that David helped your team get to the border of the playoffs and the last draft lottery spot, you must be so so proud.

    • suggest or call attention to indirectly; hint at.
]"she had a way of alluding to Jean but never saying her name"[/COLOR]

No way with the allure of a huge contract in his hand & knowing he will make the big club out of the gate. What's another year of college going to do for him, get him a 2 year degree ?? This isn't football & thinking the NFL will wait, completely different mindset.

The odds are 95% that he comes to Buffalo, 5% he takes a different route (college / KHL).

I agree, he could wait until next year and be #1 for even more money.

Once a player is drafted they have 3 seasons to sign a deal, If they don't sign, They become free agents.

He hasn't been drafted yet so will this still be the case?

He will be drafted and there's zero reason to believe he'd pull an Eli Manning.

“It’s hard to talk about playing for a team next year when the draft hasn’t happened,” Eichel said of the Sabres via conference call. “A lot of things can happen on draft day. Nothing is set in stone right now, but obviously it would be really nice to play there. There’s so much tradition there, and it’s a great hockey city.”

He's getting drafted, And once that happens the clock starts.

That's how the Rangers got Kevin Hayes, Black hawks drafted him in the 1st round, He finished college, Signed with NY as a free agent.

That would be the ultimate karma honestly. It would also spell the end of Murray's mgmt career.

Murray has conducted himself like a complete bufoon through this whole "process".

Very interested what name coach he is able to get and how much Pegs has to overpay to get him.

Eichel will definitely play some day for the Sabres.

He isn't going to not sign for the 3 years and then become a FA.

I just see him going back to college next year as a sophomore to win a championship rather than playing with a very dysfunctional Sabres team next year.
